There’s also the consideration that Western states have a lot of major routes that are not Interstates. Take Oregon as an example, I-5 runs along the west edge of the Cascades and I-84 runs along the Columbia on the northern edge. There are no other 1 or 2 digit Interstates in Oregon. That means there need to be

Where would America have been in the 20th century without the Interstate making the economy hum? This charging network for the 21st century is completely equivalent—the system doesn’t work, doesn’t reach the synergism that it should, unless the network stretches coast-to-coast. So yes, I will call these tax dollars

Current EVs are far cleaner over their lifespan by every measure. Engineering Explained has a better video explaining it. People ignore all of the oil production, farming for corn for ethanol and all the ancillary stuff for ICE that they try to cram in when comparing an EV. Getting Oil out of the ground, processing it

Of course, we can’t ignore the human component in these situation; had the drivers been paying attention, they likely would have realized the beginning of a dangerous situation and been able to make evasive maneuvers to prevent a crash. After all, drivers are technically supposed to have their hands on the wheel and

It depends on where in Colorado they are travelling and the nature of their work. If they have to head west up the mountain in an “essential” position, yeah, they might need it.

Hopefully this cuts down on all the “muffler delete” fans.

The requirements haven’t changed and if you had just followed the law there wouldn’t be a problem.

I for one won’t miss the Harley guys at all when they go quiet.

Look, clearly you have a very narrow understanding of how the world works and that includes the presidency. Trump spent four years courting and empowering authoritarian regimes around the world while simultaneously doing everything he could to damage our own democracy and the strength of allied relationships. It is he

It’s already built, just needs a signature of a pen to allow it to flow.

Been driving the Leaf a lot lately. It has 27K miles on it in 18 months. With our Solar Array and using as a comparison a 30 MPG vehicle we still make about $300 per year on electric bill

lol, just typical tech baron shit. I appreciate Tesla for all its done in mainstreaming EVs and building a car company from scratch. Truly impressive feats. However, as someone who will most certainly by an EV here in the next few years i wouldnt ever consider buying one from Tesla.

I think what you’re seeing here is car companies trying to be tech companies.

I find this frustrating. Obviously, I can only speak for myself, but a significant reason there’s not an EV in my garage is the limited offerings. I am ready to pull the trigger, but so far none of the EV’s on the market create want.

We’re missing on this Honda, but luckily the Mini Cooper SE almost perfectly fills the gap: 2 door, sub $30K after incentives (cheaper than the price Honda published about a year ago), low-ish range EV, fun to drive.

Agree with your thinking, 10 years ago. The next 10 years will see a massive shift. Once you go EV, you don’t go back.

A while back when these systems first came about, my dad (who lives in Northern Germany) told me about his buddy who’d bought a brand new Merc. He was all excited about it, because the dealer (from whom he’d been buying cars for decades) had given him a demo and it was pretty awesome. So he was a little surprised when

My wife’s car has this and, granted I see the enormous positives of having it, I’m not here to naysay. That being said, when this system triggers inappropriately, it is fucking infuriating. I’ve had this system go off when cars in turn lanes approach an intersection to make a right turn into my lane as I’m going

My front collision warning is such a drama queen.
