Ugh, I hope the lane keeping stuff is defeatable. I turned it on once in a rental car and could only stand it for about 5 minutes. I intentionally hug the inside of corners both to keep a buffer between me and oncoming traffic and because there’s probably some miniscule fuel saving to taking the shorter line. I also

That’s all fine and dandy on clearly marked, well maintained roads.  The shitty roads in many parts of the US do confuse these systems at times.  It is annoying to fight the car when it is trying keep you what it thinks is the lane, but really isn’t.  A friend with a relatively new Outback said that was the most

What I often hear from people about modern car design is that there’s not enough useless black plastic cladding. I’m glad this addresses that complaint by making half the front of the vehicle plastic clad.

If new EV tax credits go through (the $12,500 one), the Bolt could end up under $20k.

On behalf of everyone outside of your car - it doesn’t sound better.
Note to everyone here: modifying your exhaust to make your car louder does not make you cool - it makes you dickish.

This website is ABSURD on a phone.  GO Media can suck it.

The race duration should be such that the cars can race flat out for the whole length of the race with at least 20 % left.  One of the biggest concerns slowing the uptake of electric cars is range anxiety, so what does formula E make central to the races - yep, range anxiety.

I did say “to some degree.” That includes zero degrees.

I’ve never involuntarily caught a case of the Obesity from someone else.

I largely agree, but I think there could be a place for a 100 mile range car. The bigger issue I see is that it’s a 100 mile range car in the mid-$30's. You might be able to convince some buyers that a 100-mile car is a perfect daily/second vehicle, but not at that price. That’s a low-$20's proposition.

I love the idea of an electric crate engine program, but the motor was never the tricky bit

My commute (pre-pandemic) was 30 miles each way. A bit above average. The “normal” range of my 3-year-old Tesla Model 3 is 282 miles (313 on a ‘full’ range charge). I can make it home in the summer with 220 miles “in the tank”. In the winter, it’s more like 200.

If I’m taking a long road trip, say, to my daughters who

According to Rivian, their battery pack is 135 KWh and dual induction stoves are about 1800 watts so you could run the stove for 75 hours if you wanted to.

To gain the environmental dividend that governments are looking for, users are going to have to keep them longer, drive them further than they may have done with a conventional internal combustion energy vehicle.”

Yep. They just make the statement with no backup. Typical click-bait era news.

I mean - I’d love to watch it if it didn’t require another bloody subscription.
Couldn’t Netflix or Amazon or someone have done it?

I checked and, yeah, Texas Southern general parking permits are $250 or more, and I can totally sympathize with a broke college kid not wanting to pay that.
