Can the IIHS tackle DRL LEDs that are so bright the driver thinks their headlights are on even when they’re not? I run into this all the time now, because dashboards are always lit, even with the headlights off, and DRLs are so bright the owners think their lights are on. I’ve been stuck behind someone without their

So do I, just not in my eye.

I actually feel the opposite. I have no issue driving with traditional headlights, the only issues I encounter are being blinded by other cars on the road with aircraft spotlights, and the incredible amount of glare that all of the LCD displays inside of modern cars produce.

Feels off because you don’t agree? The EPA just happens to be more conservative in their estimations, any OEM can make up any bullshit third party study to say something else but it’s a direct apples to apples comparison that the Taycan has significantly worse range than other competitors, no cheating required.

Something just feels off about the EPA tests...I’d be skeptical as a manufacturer too if other test cycles have all yielded better range.

Which data?

Boeing and their subsidiary, The FAA?**

Couldn’t Porsche just install a larger turbo to increase the range?

Porsche talked all that trash, and then when it came to the most important metric for an EV...it couldn’t beat vehicles 25% of it’s price?! Congrats Porsche...you’ll be the fastest EV alright...from charging station to charging station. Go take several seats!

I’d rather drive 200 miles continuously with the peace of mind that I’ll always get 200 than have 400 degrade to 200 over time. I could foresee myself getting stranded often if I followed that higher expectancy of range.

came to say the same thing. that last speed bump test in an alley between people’s homes. how easily would it have been for some kid to come run out into that alley while he’s blasting down the middle at ~30mph. this guy needs his license taken away.

You do know that getting a driver’s license is a much harder process than here in the US right? Most of us wouldn’t be able to drive in Germany if we were to go through the process, takes about 6 months from start to finish. Plus it costs upwards of $2000 when all said and done, that figure was from a friend who lived

And they’re slower than their lower slung car relatives. They get better mileage because they have less power. You can’t make a car with a bigger frontal area get better mileage without compromising somewhere. CUVs are a bad deal and people don’t know it because they don’t know how physics work.

Am I going to be the only one who thinks this guy is a moron doing this on public roads? Especially a burnout and hitting the nitrous on a road lined with peoples personal cars. Or damaging speed bumps in a retailers parking lot. That and I just cant stand his presentation in general.

My ex and my current had a Rav4 and CRV respectively and I’ve put substantial miles on both, and hate both with every fiber of my being.  I’d rather take the bus than buy a crossover in my price range (I’m sure the Macan is plenty fun,but I’d never buy one over a Cayman).

I’d very much encourage you to get some seat time in a Model 3 or Mach e when available if you have not before. There are definitely disadvantages, but these cars are a blast to drive and carve corners with. Neither are light vehicles, but that’s just a matter of time and capacity improvements over the next decade or

Why not make both? This is what I don't understand about the people who are mad about the Mach-E. They're not discontinuing the Mustang. Since when is more choice a bad thing?

I dunno. I think if we're going to start making electric versions of lightweight two-seater convertibles with legendary handling, we should be starting with the Lotus Elise.

Give me an electric Miata with 150 to 200 mile range and optimized for handling and I’m in. A couple all electrics (Leaf, 500e) are surprisingly capable without even trying to be good driver’s cars.

No one said he was in the right, but this lawsuit was definitely in the wrong (our tax payer money funded a british guy suing for somone calling him names on the internet). Everyone’s time was wasted on the obvious.
