How many actual outlets at each of those CCS chargers? I honestly don’t know, but is it standard to have 8 to 20 outlets at each one?

Traffic is actually where an electric would shine.

Don’t care.   My commute to work is 5 miles.

I love how people trash Tesla when at the end of the day Tesla was the company that started the whole luxo-EV movement single handed and its only now, over 12 years later that any of the other major manufactures who naturally have way more financial abilities to get off their lazy asses and do something similar. And

Cadillac anymore is just a fancy Chevy. Back in the golden days of Cadillac (pre-80's) they were a technology inventing, ground breaking lux brand that even the German builders aspired to. Fancy Chevy isn’t a good identity to have.

If every product that had turbo in the name were required to employ an actual turbocharger...

Turbo eh? Reminds me of this kind of turbo...

A couple years late, but finally proof that major OEMs can build a Model S rival just as compelling in style, execution and performance*.

The Taycan Turbo S is the current flagship, maybe of the entire Porsche range at this point, and it also does not have a turbocharger despite the name.

I’m sure there have been situations before in which I’ve wanted to see marketing people tarred and feathered, but there’s a special place in hell for the one unable to come up with an electrical synonym for Turbo.

Calling an EV a “Turbo” is absurd. I really dislike this blurring of automotive terms practiced by BMW, Mercedes, and now Porsche. It’s very un-German of them. The German language probably has a very specific word for precisely this type of thing.

Tesla could not make it easier to carry a key for the Model 3.  It fits in any wallet or purse.  Not carrying one is stupid.

Why are we shouting that Tesla “let” the driver do anything? Is the licensing process for operating these machines that meaningless now? As someone licensed for the privilege to drive cars on public roads (yes, it’s a privilege and should be regarded as such) everyone should be fully aware of their responsibilities

Sorry about your president, guys. He didn’t seem too concerned with the cost of cars when he started tariffs on steel and electronics though.

1st Gear: another thing not often mentioned is that the current emissions timeline matches up pretty well with that of other nations, so building cars that meets those requirements allows for a larger global audience.

Totally - why bother trying to stop any air pollution unless you stop every single instance of it at once?

What does this have to do with simplifying regulations? Everything was going according to plan before Trump decided to get involved. His people are the reason things are so complicated all of a sudden.

They have an ideology and that is giving their buddies more money. The rollback is not about raising emissions, its about using more gas. Gotta keep the oil billionaires in good standing.

I read the NYT article this morning. The thing that jumped out at me was this:

I would argue that retirement community had electric golf carts for decades. There has been no issue with quiet golf carts.
