Here’s what is coming to AV Club: No One
Murray is hardly a minor character. It will be hard to continue the show without him. With the recent loss of George Segal, as well, it just feel like time to wrap-up the series. It had a great run.
Just wanted to take the opportunity to ask why the fuck I have to be interrupted every 30 seconds by a pop up ad that covers half the screen of my PC while trying to read a Sam Barsanti bad review of a show I’ve been crossing my fingers about for months?
I give it a year until this dude gets outed as a sex pest
This is the first article I’ve seen about this thing that mentions how kind of... gross it feels.
Yeah, if there’s one thing people hate about Ghostbusters, it’s the comedy. Everytime Bill Murray said something in the original movie everyone in the theater would stand up and go, “Shut up, Murray! We demand a compelling storyline!”
He never got over how poorly his Star Wars prequel article went down and blames it all on redlettermedia fans.
You just hate Red Letter Media because the dude read your thing in a “dumb guy” voice in one of their videos
Mr. Grooberson.
Dude, if you’ve convinced yourself that the older, kinja-less version of the AVClub would go any easier on this trifle, I don’t know what to tell you.
Ghostbusters’ appeal was its irreverence—it understood that any ghost-hunting business would operate like a bunch of particularly nerdy exterminators, and that the kind of people who would actually set out to be a ghostbuster would be various flavors of crackpot. The tone of quivering Spielbergian reverence towards…
The problem was it was lifting from all the good animated shows on the air without giving thought how all those pieces would fit together in a coherent story.
I really wanted to like this show but it just wasn’t good. I’m honestly surprised it lasted three seasons.
I don’t want fan-service. I want Star Trek. I want discrete, single serving adventures with interesting sci-fi concepts and gradual character growth. I do not want fully serialized Trek, and if we must have serialization I would rather have the light serialization/ big bad of a Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
But what we’re…
That’s an interesting read, but why do I get the feeling you scour comment boards waiting for someone to make fun of Al Gore?
I mean, they also killed off the first old white man to have a real role in a Star Wars movie too.
Maybe let’s not be too precious about it. She only reverted to it, professionally, this year.
Was her character killed off because she was Black? Or was her character treated like any other?
I’m all for cracking down on difficult dudes, but it just feels like nothing was said despite 4 paragraphs having been written for it. And honestly, I’m just used to getting more details about performers I enjoy being revealed as people I can’t respect.
Succession is an Arrested Development pretender, not the other way around.
