Which is why that is illegal.
Which is why that is illegal.
Obviously it’s not safe to pull into incoming traffic without checking your mirrors.
It makes sense as long as everyone plays by the rules, looks out for motorcycles. Lane splitting is proven to be safe and speeds up all traffic, and is legal in every European and Asian country. It’s just how motorcycles work.
I get knocked down, but I get up again. You’re never gonna keep me down, dog!
No, he just made a legal maneuver for the motorcycle a little bit safer and easier. Him moving also makes the bike more visible to the beige car’s driver, since cars are always moving over for bikes in California.
Cars in California move over for bikes all the time. It’s a simple courtesy for anyone who’s paying attention to what’s coming up behind them.
More great motorcycle coverage from Jalopnik.
Keep being awesome, Alanis.
What if I just roll back the odometer once I hit 30,000 miles? Or doesn’t Mercedes offer that feature?
It also recognizes when it’s on a racetrack, and recalibrates the speedometer slows down the lap timer.
Who remembers when Lanesplitter used to have motorcycle news and reviews, and wasn’t just the motorcycle section of the ‘car crime’ tag?
What did he destroy, and how do you trespass on public land?
It has 2 fuel injectors per cylinder... It was a thirsty car.
Some pedantry? It’s an aluminum, 32-vale 16 injector, dry-sump engine vs an iron block, SOHC, wet-sump engine.
The GT did not have the Lightning motor. The Lightning had a 16 valve iron block, Eaton-supercharged 380hp engine that was essentially a regular F150 motor with a blower. The GT was an aluminum, 32 valve, dry-sump motor with a Lysholm screw-type supercharger. The closest you’ll get to that thing is in the 2013 GT500.
Baja didn’t work out so now you’re doing the Mint 400 in class 11? What’s next, the Dakar on a Honda C50? I hope Jalopnik’s health plan covers chiropractor visits.
