Everyone was talking about not knowing the rule last night, but it looked like Theo Riddick DID not know the rule, as he immediately turned around and appealed to the officials when Wright batted it. Riddick is also a special teams player, who seem to have to know all the rules just in case.

And while the rest of the football world bitches about him, Bill Belichick, year after year, calls for ALL plays to be reviewable. Coaches don't get more than 2 challenges, just as now, but they can use them whenever they want.

The daily aspect of it also allows for greater manipulation by the individual players.

Daily fantasy is betting against an implied point-spread set by the company. There’s an expected number fantasy points based on past performance and current opponent, fantasy dollars to pay roughly based on expected points, and you’re betting whether that player will beat the implied points-dollars spread relative to

To me, the distinction is now how the game is played but how the money is collected and redistributed. Fantasy league sites usually don’t collect the money for you — you use their tool, but if you want to wager with your friends, it’s all done off the site. Now we’re starting to see some sites that do collect money

But games like what now is daily fantasy existed before the industry did: there were certainly contests where you picked players who were given a salary and tried to score the most points, and they were found in the fantasy sections of sites like ESPN.com. They were just free and offered a few prizes, rather than

There is a ‘regard’ for what others pick, if you are playing a tournament you need to be aware of % ownership. I would equate it more to the stock market.

I’m not big on fantasy leagues because, in all honesty, I don’t have the time or attention span to be able to do it. I was not aware that the daily leagues were made this way instead of what I’ve known to be the normal fantasy leagues. I see your point and I agree that daily leagues are more like gambling than season

Who’s going to stand up and say this though? I don’t trust legislators to be able to under the difference between Original Fantasy and Daily “Fantasy.”

If Brees is out for an extended period of time, I know one QB on the free agent market who many already believe to be a Saint.

That may have been his plan but take note: That was a fucking stupid plan.

I don’t think Bradford was Kelly’s guy. I think Bradford was a chip to get Marcus Mariota, who obviously is Kelly’s guy. I think Kelly’s plan was just to acquire a lot of those chips to hand off to whoever was getting Mariota. When that failed, he basically had to turn that into something workable.

I just walked 34 feet down the hallway at work, untouched. I think I can play RB for the Eagles.

Aaaaand...I’m done with football.

Ironically, Josh Scobee is disappointed that the Patriots didn’t bend the uprights.

So...

My wonder at this point is if we will get through a single NFL game this year without a stupid, contrived mini-controversy to keep everyone consistently talking about the fucking NFL. Trying to enjoy this league is such a chore.

Since when is drafting the greatest QB of all-time in the 6th round “cheating”?

So the league gets stomped in court, then all of a sudden a “bombshell” report from the same media outlet that leaked completely fabricated information shows up 5 days later? Seems like pretty good timing.

Taping signals during 2000-2006 was perfectly legal, wasn’t it? Am I just taking crazy pills here?
