Not understanding what your own site does can be a recurring problem.
People use FB for feeds of their friends, not “enagement” by algorithm. People read Twits for short info, not for parsing thru ads. People read Deadspin for insightful tangents and the wild commentariat.
If you expect people to do something different…

Subverting the stereotyping of an alien race for a one-story protagonist seems to me much different than arbitrarily reinventing your main character.

You mean the confession itself is the guilty plea? I thought the accused still had to stand before the judge and actually enter that plea. ie, the confession is an agreement *to* plead guilty, which someone could then violate.

The thing that keeps getting me is that no one NEEDS to try to have it both ways.

Of course it’s expected. The protocol is designed to say “you’re permitted this much racism.” Basically, they can be as racist as they want until the Ref says otherwise. And the racists said “ok, we accept your offer to be totally racist for only a while”.
