You mean... for one brief, glorious, shining moment... I was AHEAD OF THE CURVE in an online fighting game??? The me from a couple weeks ago who was rocking Aquaman with no remorse is very, very happy.

Wilpon figured he’s already paying Bobby Bonilla to sit around and play video games all day.
We’ve come a long way as a society.
my only conclusion would be that he either brought his own Atari to those events or there were a ton of 2600s with the same fault.
While the game’s timer may appear to count each hundredth of a second, it actually advances 0.03 seconds at a time. Activision’s internal tests gave them a theoretical best time of 5.54, and if Rogers was able to best that by a single tick of the clock, it would be 5.51.
I’m trying to figure out why they’d need at target.
The one number alone doesn’t add up. If you’re paycheck to paycheck you should be in the income bracket that gets assistance to purchase your insurance, right? That’s the design, at least.
They’re not running a 39 man roster if Tebow isn’t brought up, so some minor leaguer gets paid that amount for that spot. That isn’t adding any cost they didn’t already have, it’s just allocating money to a different person. (Which kind of sucks for the no-name guy who would be 40th otherwise.)
They could only lose their dignity.
If they instead got the top 12 picks in this year’s draft, instead of expanding with the worst player from each other team, how competitive could they be?
If you’ve been in a canoe you know that you DON’T STAND UP IN A CANOE! (At least, not for very long.) Thus, it must be surfing.
What breed of dog is that?
That’s how you know this is the only remotely effective method of protest. The people on the other side had nothing to argue back with except to argue that the act of protest itself was somehow wrong.
If a protest goes totally unnoticed then it’s not really a protest. Essentially people that say, “You’re not protesting the right way,” are saying, “Don’t protest.”
When should he protest against racism in America, if not during one of the most oddly cherished bits of Super Patriot Fap Material than the Star Spangled Banner??? I mean, the point of protesting is to speak or act out in some manner that clearly states what your protest is about. I don’t think protests work if…
What’s less noticeable than kneeling? Sitting?
WOW a whole lot of people want to jump to conclusions. I never said I oppose protesting. All I’m saying is that choosing the anthem as his moment of protest was more distracting than effective for his expression. He’s of course still free to do that, I have posts defending his right to do so, but it’s a poor choice on…
Protesting in a way that’s *overly* noticed, like he was doing, actually detracted from the message he wanted to send. He got people talking about him, not about the issues. A more quiet protest would actually work better.
all that, and I’m still not seeing how Alex Smith would have put up worse numbers. The intervening years have proven Smith is a better QB.
I was trying to think of a Deadspin-quality joke about Colin Kaepernick not standing for this, but then I realized Kaepernick’s entire career has come and gone without this dumb song and that’s quite enough of a joke itself.
