You could always hope for a double fault, right?

I mean if I were the photographer, that'd be my explanation too.

Jesus christ. Always a sober reminder of what humanity is up against.

THAT WAS HIS NICKNAME DONT ASK QUESTIONS!!!!

I did *not* expect a Salute Your Shorts reference on a Deadsping UFC article.

Despite there being an actual Salute Your Shorts about___

I mean I’m SURE some dude is like, “Nuh-uh! You know this scale is real because it’s made with weights and levers and thus is 100% accurate! Not like some digital scale that can just poop out mumbo jumbo!”
Despite there being an actual Salute Your Shorts about these scales being wrong!

No one ever said switching to triathlons was easy.  RIP

Suicide. Is there a shortcut this guy won’t take?

As someone who has lived a substantial amount of his life in South Florida, drivers there believe that they alone own the road and everyone around them are just obstacles to their destination. I hope Norton and his family pull through this trying time.

At the scene?

I got doored about 18 months ago here in Philly. We have a lot of narrow one way streets and the driver didn’t look before opening the door on me when I was basically next to them. Luckily I was only going about 12 to 15 mph or so.

Should cars respect bike lanes? You bet. Is it a horrific tragedy any time a cyclist is killed? Absolutely. But should cyclists obey traffic laws? That'd be nice, too.

Oh, and I just wanted to point out this video of training Bus drivers by making them feel what its like to be passed at speed:

I ride in philly to and from work, it is simply the fastest way to get around, and these streets are pretty unapproachable for people who aren’t already very comfortable on a bike. I bought my wife a bike and it only took one ride up 15th street for her to swear that off for good.

I’ve been reading Deadspin for a long time (longer than I care to admit) but never commented before. I just wanted to say thanks for this article.

I’ve been a commuting cyclist in Chicago for over a decade. I’ve been hit a few times and had 2-3x as many close calls. I pass ghost bikes (white-painted memorials for cyclists murdered on the city’s streets) daily and it never gets any less haunting. What makes me ache even more about every preventable death

My brother-in-law was knocked off his bike and then run over by semi truck on a regular city street in Brooklyn in 2014. Deeper in to BK in some of the industrial areas, there are just no bike lanes to speak of. He survived (thanks to his helmet) but his leg was so mangled from the truck running it over that it took 3

Teammates begged out of shared hotel room assignments with Winslow because he watched pornography and masturbated openly, with no regard for who was in the room, a teammate and an official said.”
