I have a week off work next week (I really get into celebrating my birthday), and massage school starts next Monday. I am simultaneously excited and scared about the latter bit — I haven't been to school in 10 years, and I don't know anything about my prospective classmates. But I am hopeful that in a year or so I

James McManus' Positively Fifth Street, which isn't even at the poker parts yet and I am unfairly comparing it to Colson Whitehead's The Noble Hustle (which was quite good).

Happy birthday! Next week is my birthday, so you are 4.987 years younger than me! I hope it is awesome, and I look forward to seeing you celebrate 4.987 years of sobriety!

Still on Stronglifts 5x5. My deadlift is at the point where what my legs can lift is hampered by my grip strength.

I haven't read actual floppy comics in a long time, but I read the trades we get here at the library.
Also, I'm going to be at New York Comic Con; should we have a meetup?

No one jokes like Gaston
No one tokes like Gaston
No one's castmates all hope that he croaks like Gaston!

I'll have you know, that angry ferret is running for PRESIDENT OF THESE UNITED STATES!

They've already gone through twelve P.A.s. One died in a bizarre gardening accident; one choked on someone else's vomit; one spontaneously combusted while working with the wildfire…

I'm just waiting for the surprise reveal that explains the Dyson sphere in the intro.

Does he need help?

Pokémon Crystal. It's fun, and it's a slow enough introduction that i'm not overwhelmed with 12,965 new Pokemans, but i find myself really missing the charm of Earthbound.

I got my pro pass for New York Comic Con yesterday or the day before, as well as my tickets to go see Weird Al next Saturday. I also managed to score a ticket to meet Bruce Springsteen in Freehold. I tried to get some for my friends, but they sold out almost instantly, and I'm not going to be fully convinced I

That's one of the perils of working in a library. "Oh, this looks good! And this! Oooh, and definitely this! But I have no time…"
Which reminds me, I should keep a couple of spare pairs of glasses in the local fallout shelters.

Good luck. It'll get better, I hope…

"I'll just tell 'em what my daddy told me: you ain't never gonna amount to nothin'."

I am so behind on my reading. I have Waid and Staples' take on Archie on my desk and still haven't done more than flip through it; I also have James McManus' Positively Fifth Street under that and it would be collecting dust if it weren't for the comic on top of it.
I am reading through Guy Deslile's Burma Chronicles,

Fuck that I have a huge event coming on Saturday and I feel woefully unprepared. Fuck, for that matter, my own Impostor Syndrome that is making me feel woefully unprepared for anything in general.
And, of course, fuck Trump and anyone who wants to vote for him.
ETA: And fuck Disqus for breaking and not letting me see

I made Cereal Chicken, which is chicken cutlets breaded with crushed cereal and spices (Frosted Flakes, in this case) and then fried. They are ordinarily a delicious spicy-sweet meal, but my ingredients didn't mix as well as I wanted them to, and some pieces were spicy and some pieces kind of bland.
