How is $2M for an R34 worth it when half a mil for a 65 GT350 not?

Once the hicks who buy big V8 trucks get smoked at a light by an EV model... you best believe they’re trading theirs in and hooking up some ultra-bright lights and sonic generators to those batteries XD

The real tickler will happen when certain areas will have enough EVs that gas stations will close due to lower sales - increasing the price of guzzoline and reducing the amount of places it can be purchased... further pushing local residents to go electric. Sure there will be gas stations around for a long time, but

It’s a bit strange even on motorcycles, but you get used to it after a while. Also Ferrari can get away with ergonomic nightmares because 99% of it’s customers barely drive the cars, and when they do it’s not when they’re stressed out in rush hour traffic.

I mean his name is hodor...

Your list of what makes a car luxury reads like it’s from 1986... most cars these days have comfortable seats, a good ride and decent materials :/ If you’ve ever sat in an S class or 7 series you’d realize they spend more R&D money on seats than Tesla seemed to have on the whole Model S interior.

That fender cut line is the worst thing I’ve ever seen... it’s like they took the Civic’s front-end and windshield, enlarged it, and threw it over a CLS.

A Model S is luxury only if you’ve never been in a proper luxury car. I like what Tesla has done for the industry and their control electronics/software is top notch... but their interiors are terrible.

I mean sure... but would that really wear the gears? There’s no heat from friction, just pressure on one side of the teeth or the other. If rocking back and forth breaks the gears, then they definitely wouldn’t last past one WOT gearchange anyway.

Yeah but the SS is much less likely to lose value longer term compared to whatever SUV abomination he’ll end up getting...

I guess it’s a matter of the driver showing off Tesla launch control where he/she shouldn’t have and fucking up... isn’t there a way to tell if AP was on? or is the car too crispy to retrieve that data. Also, I’ve seen videos of people climb out of the driver seat or have sex while AP is on... so the systems in place

Three weeks ago, a car doing 90mph ran a red light

I’d much rather have an ATS-V (CT4-realV I guess) with an LT1...

Yeah I agree with your points... but if you’re someone who can drop $85,000 on a family SUV, this thing is looking pretty good. I’m not in the market for any expensive SUV, but if I was I would go for that new Hummer - if the production version isn’t watered down too much.

These types of cars depreciate regardless... besides there’s more potential for meaningful improvements in the EV space that could make current-gen models obsolete (and depreciate).

It's not just the target resolution, but the render resolution that matters just as much. Use a "higher" DLSS setting, otherwise it might be rendering at 720p and there's no coming back from that...

That front end is terrible... it’s like they looked at the 6th gen Camaro refresh that lasted one model year and said “I want that, but with a bigger grille!” The rest of the car is absolutely gorgeous though.

Any sane person is just going to lease a 550xi, then proceed to put some downpipes with an intake and a tune for similar highway pull performance. These things are pointless throw-away products once a new model is released anyway :/

I loved Chip’s updates to the front end! People make fun of his “hot-rod” designs, but he has an amazing eye for car design and he knows the market for each type of car.

Sure, but this is different... like the evidence provided is easily verified and the numbers aren’t off by a small amount - we’re talking over 50MPH difference here.
