I recently flew on a couple of full flights, when the flight attendants came around with snacks and drinks we all took our masks off together. Thankfully Covid takes a break then, phew. Not to mention the 1000s of people passing thru the terminal, not bothering to mask up.

Nah, buses are beefy as hell. They tend to use the cars that hit them as the crumple zone.

Except the momentum of the bus wouldn’t have pushed the frame and engine to the side, which is the majority of the damage except for the very easily smashed up fiberglass hood - only the car from the side could really provide that type of energy and it really wouldn’t take all that much given the frame is designed for

Look at all that sidewall. YOU LOVE TO SEE IT.

My first thought was to wonder whether this was coming or going because the poor thing has a swingarm at both ends!

You’re about 7 years late with the AMG 63 4 liter complaint.

I wish I knew who was out there demanding AWD + soft top convertible. It must be someone because there are plenty of 911s sold in that configuration too, but it’s a combo I simply don’t understand.

I just bought a 718 GTS 4.0 and it seems like a toy compared to the capabilities of the Z06 at this price. I wasn’t expecting it to be under 6 figures.

This, over and over. I’d be curious to see what their layup process looks like, but my suspicion is that it is a lot more automated than the hand cutting and application of patterns that I saw on the Koenigsegg CF wheel video a few years back. Not to take anything away from Koenigsegg, as they are truly amazing and

Maybe it’s because I spent so many years designing for mass production, but: I always find the Corvette far more impressive than the Koenigseggs and Paganis. It’s much more difficult, consequential, and just cool to bring technology and performance like this into the five figure sale price and five figure production

you’re a funny man :-)

100% agree. Car’s infotainment system should just be:
* AM/FM/Satellite radio
* Apple Car Play
* Android auto.
* OFF. <- Looking at you Mazda, let me turn the damn thing OFF.

no need for navigation, or built in apps, etc

Also screens are getting too big and most have no way to dim them all the way down at night.

You can buy my 2006 Z4 M Roadster for $30K USD. It only has 45,000km or 28K miles. Come to Ontario and see for yourself. And no ugly wood dash either.

The difference between 197 inches and 185 is huge. They aren’t roughly the same size - they are in different classes.

Why? That looks a high schoolers rendering after a few weeks using blender

We can’t wistfully recount old-school sports cars, lament their disappearance amid the onslaught of technology and then complain when successors arrive that are, in a few ways, slightly old”

Counterpoint:

The skepticism is highly warranted, but I could see this happening since the unmarked cop car also appeared to be a Dodge Charger. ALL of the cars at these illegal “sideshow” events are Chargers or Challengers. Racing and hooning Chargers in Detroit is so common it’s reached meme status.
