They don’t really make sense in a front-engine chassis. The hardtop is heavy, complicated and makes the rear-end look awkward while a soft top is 99% just as nice at that size without those drawbacks. Some of the new mid-engine convertibles have a small center section that gets tucked away and it’s no heavier or more…
I think that way too... but I like sports cars. Most people buying convertible 911s and SLs don’t care about purity or driving dynamics :/ compared to what they were driving before literally any 911 is a “race car”.
275s are not great, not terrible... depends on the suspension geometry.
That frond-end is rather unfortunate though :/
Oh I didn’t know this existed... cool. I would keep the S54 though.
Manual E46 M3s in good condition are less money than Z4 Ms? That would be news to me, as most people associate peak BMW with the E46 and not the Z4. A few years ago this was the cheapest way to get an S54/manual drivetrain in a car.
I was always shifting. The gears felt too close together.
It’s a roadster, they’re not going for as much as the coupes are. That said I’ll give you $22k for yours :p
This will not be 75k with options - there’s just no way. A base car without many of the “necessary” bits that will make it the Z06 people really want, maybe... even then I’d be surprised.

Who cares... you cannot deliver “the future” these days because everything is regulated to the point where designing something radically different is impossible, you can’t even design the original Countach (so much for it being “the future”).
He’s either a dumbass or you fell for his bait... the world may never know.
The Cherokee’s platform is much heavier - it’s going to get worse real world mileage and be dreadful with an NA i4. The Compass is a decent crossover, especially with that new interior.
It looks good, especially in that purple. No manual option is an absolute L though... hope the M2 retains the proper transmission. Although I hate that you have to get the most expensive model to have that option - especially considering how good the B58 is.
I would take the new C8 as a convertible...
Rookie numbers - I’m at 404
That was my point though - nostalgia declined for the muscle cars and is building for JDM bubble cars.
I would say the original GT350 spawned even greater enthusiasm, in an era before video games and Youtube no less. People had to go out of their way to even know what one was.
That’s exactly my point though... it’s nostalgia. OP said these cars (JDM bubble era) are actually worth millions compared to muscle cars. However both are really not - that’s just how much some people are willing to pay because of nostalgia and unfulfilled dreams, not the actual car. Just like old GT350s and HEMI…
