They didn’t recap the Best Original Song list either, reminding people that they were performed throughout the night, so of course they wouldn’t recap the Best Picture list

I feel like you’re typing a lot of words to critique a post on a comment thread while clearly understanding what my meaning was. Maybe this is a ‘you’ thing more than a ‘me’ thing.
I honestly don’t know why anybody bothers trying to humiliate a man who has no shame. Detractors are probably right that giving Trump the light of day in any situation just helps him stay in the public consciousness.
This. AV bleeding heart writers seems forgetting history read. Japan never innocent in WW2, they were even worse than Nazi German in a lot of ways. Nuke those two cities is akin to choose the lesser of two evils. Either land invasion that resulted in worse situation, millions of Japanese + thousands of US forces gonna…
Oppenheimer took on a similarly shameful moment in American history but didn’t actually show it on screen.
“Robbing” is a strong and inappropriate word. It would have been awesome to see Gladstone win because I really loved her performance, but Stone’s was also really incredible, and a much bigger part of her film. The award was up for grabs especially between the two of them, and not for Gladstone to lose.
Did the AV Club forget that it put not just Oppenheimer, but also Poor Things, ahead of Killers of the Flower Moon in its list of the best picture of 2023? So why all the sudden wailing about the fact that the Academy . . . agreed with you? How is a movie “snubbed” when you think the actual winner was better?
This is a reductive take. While I loved Killers and didn’t find the length burdensome, it’s a bad faith take to say that people who can’t get on board are lowbrow idiots (which is what I interpret your comment to be saying).
Three and a half hours is difficult. Many people don’t have that in their day to give all at…
Calls for peace are about as useless as a poopy flavored lollipop.
And not, as it has to always be said, the actual good movie named Crash
Hamas really cares about celebrities
GOOD. Not every show needs 5 seasons. Miniseries are great and we need more of them.
Kindergarten Cop was a movie, not a documentary.
I side-eye women and men who always need to bring their children into a conversation whose topic makes them feel vulnerable. Reminds me of the story of a drug dealer who picked up his toddler as a shield right before the cops shot him. “I was pregnant and so terrified!”
Cannot help it. I had such high expectations because the historical figure Stede Bonnet is genuinely great fodder for a dark comedy.
Good. More shows should take this tact. Quality over quantity.
There is crossover. The same family is featured through out each of the ones I read. Just later in time.
You can do that when you have an order for another season in your hands.
There’s something to this. Star Wars was at least gone - except for increasingly ludicrous books and some primitive video games - from 1983 to 1997, when the special editions came out.
Harry Potter won’t even go away for that long.
