S1 got a lot of flack for not having much of a central story arc but honestly, I found the standalone episodes far more interesting than the main story arcs of S2 and S3. The worldbuilding and character development were just far stronger in S1.

My friend worked on the Pacino film, Sea of Love, years ago. He said when they shot close-ups, Pacino would ask the director to shoot them two or three times so he could alter what he did with his eyes to convey slightly different emotions. Straight, cis, white dude here, read all the official Witcher books, played the games, wouldn’t really consider myself a *super*fan of the franchise but I think it’s fair to say I enjoy the IP.

With all that written, there is something I need to vent about this article and I apologize already advance about some of the things I am about to state.

Also, while I enjoyed season 1, it definitely had some very rough edges. When season two proved those rough edges were only gonna get rougher, I checked out.

I mean if a 30 % drop between seasons is that surprising for most shows, although I can’t claim to have some deep insight into Netflix numbers. So it could very likely just be a natural drop. Waiting for all of the episodes to be released. This gated release crap they are pulling needs to go away.

Its never been a very good show, with the news that the guy holding up the show is leaving isn’t gonna bring in views. 

I enjoyed S1 and S2 a lot. I watched the first episode of S3, and it completely soured me on wanting to watch anymore.

The editing, acting, and direction felt terrible. It wasn’t engaging at all, and I don’t know if it gets better, but I don’t really care to continue watching.
