It’s no Ibsen, but there were still a lot of great jokes in this episode.

Yeah, Gawker creating a twitter bot to tweet Mein Kampf at that Coke marketing account was another fine moment in journalism.

I thought this episode felt pretty rushed. Not sure there is quite enough material for 2 episodes, but the post-surrender fate of the God Fathers felt like it could have gotten more time. Good season overall, though.

This episode needed more Chepe. All episodes need more Chepe.

It seems very hit or miss anymore. The It review got a bunch of knowledgeable and/or funny comments, and had some of that old AV Club feel. For whatever reason, the Narco reviews aren’t getting them, and I agree that it’s not the same without comments. Hopefully they’re still getting the clicks.

The only other sequel I can think of that goes as gonzo and meta is Gremlins 2.

And with Columbo!

I liked the Ghost Rider half, but I really hate coma/matrix/fantasy/drugged/holodeck episodes in TV shows (I hate the now obligatory musical episodes as well). They’re usually excuses to not push the plot forward and let the actors play dress-up or act against character in a stakes-free way. And that’s mostly what

Thanks, I’ll give it a listen.

I haven’t heard most of The National’s recent stuff. Are there any albums you’d recommend checking out?

Yeah, it’s not my favorite on the album but it gave some variety. And even some of the songs that start softer, like City Middle, do a lot of interesting things. My impression from Boxer was mostly blandness. I haven’t listened to Boxer recently enough to do a detailed criticism, but I can still hum most of the

I’ve always preferred Alligator, and think Boxer is disappointing in comparison because it was a musical turn away from songs like Mr November and Abel and towards quiet mumbles.

I think The Running Man is a blast, but very different than the book.

The ending in The Mist is one of the darkest movie endings I’ve ever seen. Maybe the the darkest.

Well, it proved she wasn’t related, so not a total waste of an exhumation. At least the results didn’t say “Reply hazy try again” or “Concentrate harder and try again,” like the last time I dug up a corpse.

His early short story collections (Night Shift and another one whose name escapes me) are great and a good intro to his work.

Good review. It makes sense to me that the chlorine gas canisters would be labeled “CHLORINE” since its poison gas. Wouldn’t want to mix it up with tanks of helium.

Nice piece. I was too old to get caught up in the HP craze (though I did enjoy the books) but it did seem different than most geekdom before. I think the biggest part is less the Internet (certainly helped) and more the part you mentioned about the importance of it being a book. I remember lots of emphasis on the

I wouldn’t cut Vaughn completely, but I would make him a supporting rather than main character. Basically, cut all scenes of his that don’t involve Farrell.
