It still sucks that AV Club is the unfortunate, unforeseen victim of the whole thing.

Email their tech people. AV Club needs to follow your account to be ungrayed permanently.
There’s also the Tick! And years’ old Bojack.
You have to be followed by AV Club to get pulled from the mass of grays. If you email the tech support email address that they gave in the initial “Kinja and You” posts, they should get you sorted.
I didn’t post much on AV Club (long time reader, only recently a commentor) , but i’m still technically here.
Fuck, Fuck, Goose is more fun.
Yeah, that is a dick move.
A large supermarket chain has lots of stuff beyond food (at least the ones in my area, which have pharmacies, some home goods, sometimes even banks). I agree the reported is no hero and deserves no pats on the back, but I don’t think he deserves scorn for mentioning it to the group of cops he met nearby.
Cops maintaining order may be part of dealing with the crises at hand. Per this story, he was already with the cops nearby who were investigating a body. So he mentioned that they’d seen looting. Why wouldn’t he say that? How is that distracting? He and the police were in a much better position to judge the…
I agree, and lacking any more details than are in this article, I don’t see a reason to say the reporter acted immorally.
And the cops would probably ignore those calls, as they may have this reporter’s call. They have a better sense of the priorities than we do. That doesn’t make calling in the looting wrong or worthy of a shaming.
Agreed, and it could have been people who were short on food and genuinely needed it (I think your life saving drug example is probably even better than food). It also might have been common criminals taking advantage of a disaster. I just don’t see a reason to pile on this reporter over calling the cops. Seems…
He saw a crime and reported a crime. Sounds like what people should do. Cops can prioritize as necessary. Seems wrong to assume the looters were all just trying to feed their starving children, as opposed to hitting the pharmacy or other non necessities. And how do we know the food was about to go bad, or about to…
Not enough vegetables.
Isn’t that a US/UK English split?
Another article on this show? It’s really dug into AV Club. Like some sort of parasitic insect.
Come with me if you want your career to live!
A lot of Trump Newswires get criticized for having little to no connection with pop culture. But this article easily tops Trump in having no connection to pop culture. Is the AV Club office just really into Wholefoods?
Nixon probably had an enemies list of movies.
You’re right. Completely misremembered that one.
