Wow. That very much seems like one of those skills that “looks easy” but requires destroying 100 windshields before you get it right.

I thought the Panamera Sport Turismo was not selling well? I read somewhere that plenty of 2018s were just sitting on the lot.
Why do you think fiberglass is less safe than sheet metal? Hint: It isn’t.
You do understand that all vintage cars are unsafe right? You might be on the wrong website if you can’t accept that.
Probably not. To be clear, I think this article is wrong, but that aside, converting a high-dollar car probably won’t decrease its value assuming their is wide demand for that car and its done well. A few RHD F40s were converted to LHD and they continue to fetch big money.
Stupid question that I can’t find an answer to: How do you cut down curved glass for a car like this? I guess you could put it on a water jet, but how was it done back in the day?
Gets excited.
I love GNR for what they are, but uh, are you not familiar with their previous work? Most of their songs are lyrically infantile.
Probably. But it might just be that they don’t want the liability of a body panel flying off because it was never meant to go faster than 25mph.
I do not think you understand how tax breaks work. There is no method by which buying an unusable car would reduce your taxes. Yes, you could write a portion off, but you still had to earn the money before giving it away.
Speaking as someone that has an M3 in the family, you don’t buy one for its reliability. Hell, I’d say they are on par with Aston. Second, they are not in the least bit exotic. I will see 5 every time I drive down the street. I have only seen 2 Rapides in my life. Is the M a better daily car? Sure. But that certainly…
You’re not wrong, but I think you are not seeing the big picture. First, its not just manual labor. Notice how there are no more travel agents around anymore? Everything from Lawyers to Accountants are getting automated away. Second, while I am no Luddite, the speed the economy is changing means that we are going to…
Well, if you don’t convert it to US spec it literally cannot be registered, insured or driven on any road. You could register it as race-only, I suppose, but it would dramatically decrease its value.
The video was good, but your article was pure poetry.
Why would it cost that much to export? Normal exports don’t cost anywhere near that.
Agreed. There is no explanation as to why it would cost so much to import. Brokers fees and taxes are not that high, the only explanation would be conversion to US spec, which shouldn’t be much at all since these were designed as world-wide cars.
Sometimes it makes sense. When I go to tradeshows, we buy and then give away/throw away the big screen TVs. Cheaper than shipping.
I can definitely see a “Corvette Zora” and a “Corvette Stingray” selling side by side.
So, what is your point? That the “leaders in design” launched with a re-badge? Look, I have had an ls400 and currently have an Ls460. They are good cars, but they were always boring. The value prop was that they were the reliable version of the Germans. My LS400 didn’t have any impressive technology that wasn’t…
I’m not sure I agree on RP1. Sure, its a silly nostalgia romp, but what is wrong with that? I miss silly action flicks. Sometimes you just want a couple of minutes of fun. Not 2.5 hours of tortured heros with dark back-stories and crippling angst. I think we could all use a bit of dumb, goofy, hero-saves-the-day right…
