I agree with everything you say, but I still think the majority of disabled people who would benefit most from adaptive technologies (of any kind) still would struggle to afford a $600 smart watch. Most people I have met with sight disabilities use cheaper smartphones, or second hand ones, way below the $600 mark,…
Dude should have just watched it on his phone like everyone else does.
They could make a difference for lots of people with disabilities, if they weren’t so prohibitively expensive. Eventually I am sure they will become more affordable as technology moves forward, but I do not think very many disabled people would be able to afford the current version of this technology.
Same genus. They’re all over the Australian coastline, but there is definitely no diamonds there.
I understand that you are skeptical, however there are several other images by different people showing exactly the same effect.
I’m not 100% sure what your metaphor is (though I’m sure it’s a good one, I’m just super tired and not braining very well), but something I always think when I see these things is “You’re just telling the perpetrators how to better hide their behaviour, gaslight, and lie”. Which is why I think if they really gave a…
Everyone’s lists are so short.
Getting real tired of “awareness being raised” (supposedly, but not really) and nothing ever actually being done to help victims or prosecute perps. Awareness is not justice. Awareness is not action. Awareness is not safety. And in this case, “Awareness” is the same old bullshit victim-blaming (“Don’t let it get”,…
Oh look, it’s the song of my people.
I agree entirely, which is why “sex strikes” don’t work.
I’m not denying that they have the philosophical right, I am pointing out that in practice this is not always respected.
a lovely guy
You are simplifying the Liberian incidents in 2003 in a gross manner. It was far more complicated and involved than the women staging a “sex strike”, and the effect the sit-in by the women’s groups had on the peace talks is vastly overstated.
The authors posit that when there are fewer births, the ratio of young men to older men and women of any age is lower and resources are less scarce; therefore, there’s less fighting.
Macca’s been doing that here for years. You guys are way more than just 12 hours behind Australia.
Our hot chocolate is so expensive because we make hot chocolate with steamed milk and chocolate syrup.
If you think pointing out a gaping flaw in your dating profile that would make most women run for the hills is trolling, well, you’ve really got to experience more of the internet.
It’s a sad indication of the state of the US when this is the kind of bullshit people have to pull to protest these anti-abortion laws. Really. From an outsider’s perspective it boggles the mind.
When (usually white) men fuck up, this excuse is pulled out all of the time to explain away the fact that they’re arseholes. When everyone else does it, they’re thugs, violent criminals, terrorists, etc etc. Fuck that. People who suffer from mental health problems are more likely to be victims of violence and abuse,…
