Man of Steel is a great movie for the first third, a pretty decent/good movie for most of the second third, but the final third is just where it goes completely off the rails. When those squiggly tentacles come out of the world engine, I was like “ehhhhhhh....nah.”

We can’t let Kim get off scot free on this. She’s not responsible for what comes out of his mouth but when they were married he was saying shit that directly contradicted her beliefs, including hanging out with a man who was buddy-buddy with the Turkish dictator ahem sorry president.  

Because it’s all about the algorithm. If one show does well, they assume the data is telling them “people love XYZ type content! Do more stuff like that!”

I don’t know about Roger Stone at this age, but there’s something about him that isn’t “tough” but “insane” - like he wouldn’t know how to fight well, but he’d be so unhinged he’d immediately start with the biting, eye gouging, etc.  And he’d have that insane energy where you’d bloody his nose but he’d be too amped up…

People that work in production and VFX know this, people outside of it don’t, and the people outside of it who are in charge of productions like this can often think it can be done in a couple of days for $5.

This is a real story.

Everything about this game has been incredibly underwhelming since the beginning.

Would you want to watch Schindler’s List every week?  Even Game of Thrones had episodes where nothing bad happened, or nothing majorly bad happened.  They took a break so that the big moments of violence, cruelty, etc. had weight.

RBG’s legacy is completely tainted by her inability to put her hubris and narcissism aside for the greater good of the country. She wanted to stand up there with Hillary after knowing she had pretty severe cancer when Obama was still around.  RBG may have broken a glass ceiling but she then later got it reinstalled. …

I think it’s worse. What they’re banking on is people all the way up to the C-suite level who think if they don’t act right now and get in on the “ground level” they’ll be seen as lame and outdated, it’s a bubble built on FOMO.  This isn’t just Joe Schmoe and his nest egg.

The US may be doing terrible with COVID, but you can’t possibly trust numbers out of China. And to even suggest the way they’re handling it is in any way ideal is absurd.

I’m saying the game he plays is that of some Viking giant with a basketball in one hand and a club in the other and standing 10, 11, 12 feet tall!

I think the debate about whether the movie itself, on its own, is good or bad, has merits on both sides. I can see why someone hates the Luke thing, or thinks it’s interesting, etc. I actually kinda like it, but get it if you don’t.
