A repeating boss or another shrine/mini dungeons is not a reward. It is boring. Just because it wasn’t marked on the map doesn’t mean it was good exploration.

The presentation is excellent but it’s actually how the game handles experience from battles that really made it fun. I never felt the need to grind unless I wanted to find a particular demon. It actually reawakened a joy for JRPGs (in small doses) that I had lost after Bravely Default on 3DS sucked the joy out.

I hate turn based combat RPGs but P5R is a 9/10 to me. It was genuinely that good that I was willing to put up with it. I love open worlds but BOTW and ER both were exploration without rewards to me. So they weren't great (both 7/10)

TP is mid but the dungeons were some of the best in the franchise. Truly amazing

I always saw both BOTW and ER as Skyrim without the bonkers charm that comes from a broken game with hilarious voice acting.

Yup I too was a wiiu BOTW player buying a Switch with the Odyssey bundle. But I thought the game got boring fast. The shrines were a major letdown.

There are a crazy number of critics and devs who are absolutely nuts about FromSoft so I am not surprised at all.

It is the main reason I am doubting the quality of reviews for TOTK. Journalists just absolutely love that game to the point that they ignore every fault it has. Doesn’t help that a lot of them are 35-40 year olds who grew up on Nintendo and are basically Nintendo Adults (like Disney Adults)

I cannot wait to see D4 basically do an Overwatch. Launch really well with reviews in the 90's but then have terrible post launch content release for a few years.

Easily could've cut the game by 15% and it would've been much better. I loved it but by the end I was just tired and wanted it to be over. 

Its been Over hyped, too many expectations and I'm sure they're panicking. They’re definitely over compensating and putting in too much at this rate. OG HK was like 8 hours too long. At this rate Silksong is going to be worst in length.

Yup. Look at the reaction to Kotakus leaks. When we got the GTAVI leaks everyone was okay about it but the TOTK leaks is bad journalism somehow. 

Mario Odyssey and XC3 are the only great games they've made. So I disagree. They're just bullies who cater to kids and adults who are stuck in arrested development
