A lot translates over to the circuit, although you are going to have less trouble going fast in a RWD car on tarmac, providing you have the set up right. Using the brakes to balance out the car is something that’s applicable across there board, although it’s more detrimental on the gravel.

Ironically enough, Hayden started out in a Mini before he could hold a drivers licence. The (then) little hellion beat me in a grass autocross in it...

The amount of XV20 Camry videos on YouTube, with cars claiming to be powered by 2JZ engines.

I’d like to see a 600hp all wheel drive Honda CR-Z, with the K20 from the latest Civic Type R.

I’m impressed with how calm the rider remained throughout the whole exchange. Me? Hell, I would have high tailed it out of there!

Now playing

One of the first Motorsports VHS tapes I ever owned was Rockin’ & Four Wheelin’, and I absolutely loved it as a young kid. Especially loved all those Mazda, Nissan and Toyota trucks racing around Riverside Raceway. If you skip through the crappy 80's cheese ball song in the middle, there’s an awesome bit footage from

With minimal run off area on most of the current IndyCar circuits, I’d be concerned that he’d kill someone.

Oh Lord, I’ve been there before. Smaller field admittedly (with no brown underwear - fortunately!), but still a scary situation. You just have to hold your breath, keep your car in one place, and pray that all the approaching cars saw the double yellows....

I hear ya!

Congratulations. You receive my nomination for COTD!

Still a better concept than the Amazing Race.

I think most of them can be attributed to Ballaban.

Agreed. If there weren’t so many great people within the racing community, I’d probably be doing something else with my weekends

Yep, I’m in total agreement.

I love the modern era, don’t get me wrong, but the 250F has to be one of the most gorgeous Grand Prix cars of all time.

An interesting point though will be whether elf comes back as a backer with the Renault buy out, given Maldonado’s lucrative PDVSA arrangement. Renault and elf are synonymous in their motorsport endeavors, it would be hard to imagine one without the other.

That was 19 minutes of pure captivation. I can’t imagine 19 minutes of on-board footage from a modern day LMP1 car being as interesting as that...

Can’t unsee now!

Not the car itself, but the lack of commitment from Toyota towards its Endurance Program at the time, just as it looked like it was coming good. The subsequent redirection of funding to an F1 team that was nothing more than a heroic failure.

You’re right, it’s probably not the worst; it was just the first program that came to mind.
