Toyota GT-One. Not because it was a terrible car - the potential was definitely there - but because it was a casualty of Toyota’s desire to go to F1. Terrible shame

You won’t be disappointed!
I had a ‘79 Honda Accord with rear brake drums that I painted gold because I was bored one day. Never mind the fact you couldn’t see them behind the (also self painted) matt black steel rims. Cool old car, owned by a then clueless young idiot.
So did the “testing” at Ventura actually happen?
That’s the one. Brought a whole new meaning to the term “Leave the left front at home”.
Having a spec right rear tire seems to go against the “run watcha brung” ethos that the event has previously endorsed (except from that one time when Andy Bondio attempted to run a ski instead of a left front wheel on Cory Kruseman’s car - hilarious).
First, Ferrari uses its powers of veto to prevent a low cost engine manufacturer model for the sport, then now this? Something doesn’t add up.
I seem to recall Bobby Rahal wearing pretty tiny sunglasses post laser surgery/contact lenses/whatever the hell he did to ditch those round monstrosities.
An old boss of mine spent some time in the US in the 80’s as a race mechanic, landing his first job at JLP racing. He’d signed on straight away, excited by the mere thought of working on 935s. But after informing some of his fellow ex-pat mates of the new job he was about to start, the excitement soon became a fear…
You haven’t witnessed the Ford versus Holden owner/fanboy war in Australia and New Zealand. I’ve seen fights break out in bars during the Bathurst 1000 because of said rivalry/hatred.
The Saab hasn’t seen a trailer in several years, and gets it’s fair share of track time. Knock on wood, it’s always been able to be driven home after a days racing.
As much as I’ve followed his NASCAR career, it would be some of his Sprint car achievements that I remember the most. The constant arguments over whether a 13 year old kid was ready to drive a 410 Sprint car (he definitely was!), or the dubious honor of being the only driver to have been fired by legendary Sprint car…
Mark Webber is finally a World Champion at something...
KTM/Reiter Engineering X-Bow GT4. Won its first three races straight out of the box, took Daniel Uckermann to the Am European GT4 championship, claimed second place in the teams championship for Zawotec, and achieved all this after missing the opening round of the series.
Damn, it’s like they’ve taken a KTM X-Bow, turfed the TFSI in favour of the EcoBoost, and finished the bodywork.
It would definitely be a fairytale ending if JG were to wrap up his Sprint Cup career with another title. Good to see him back in victory lane
Screw the purists who will say that a Lamborghini shouldn’t be a drift car, that Murcielago is the greatest drift car on earth!!!
I was hoping Renault’s move to take over (the team formally known as) Lotus (once again) would mean that Maldonado would be put on notice; my logic being that manufacturer dollars would lessen the need for a pay driver keeping the team afloat.
Using polish to hide the immovable dirt under nails is genius, and makes me jealous that I’m not a girl, or goth or whatever
For most of my female racer friends, matching their nail polish to the pastel and hot pink hues of their race cars is their most favorite thing in the world. One friend even had a carbon wrap on her nails to match the raw composite finish of her Midget car’s hood...
