As much as Mazda is the backer, this isn’t a production line race car; a third party is responsible for race prep, and that’s where the cost comes in.

Dare I say it, the KTM X-Bow: Fantastic acceleration figures, but 60mph always feels like 100 due to its low seat positioning. A 140mph top speed (on the earlier cars) means that a lot of ricers will go faster for a fraction of the cost
How could you not have a man-crush on that guy; that smile is enchanting (albeit somewhat mecurial this season)
Funny you mention that, first thing I thought when I saw the silhouette was “new Mazda Cosmo”.
I’ll never forget the year he picked up the USAC Triple Crown. That was one heckuva season, also proving how potent a V6 engine can be.
It wouldn't be a Porsche spectacle without this...
That’s some insane parking skills right there
I’m honestly hoping that Honda can get it together and put up a decent powerplant for next season. JB certainly deserves a better send off once he does (officially) call time on his F1 career
I’d say you’re right, as well as possibly being KTM’s attempt at an edgy name for its car (X is still the most badass letter of the alphabet, right?).
Ha, I’m glad you brought that up.
I guess this is one car that is attempting to correct the oxymoron that is Kia’s marketing slogan...
You would be correct; the original press release I saw said 2.4, but I see that the SCCA website is referring to a 2.0 liter powerplant.
If it’s the “Thunder Power” I’m thinking of, they make Lithium Polymer batteries for RC cars... a brave move for them to venture into the 1:1 scale world...
A little Jenks would have been the icing on the cake... I guess they would have probably required a heavily bearded little person to fulfil that role though, and that would have been weird.
I was hoping that kid would win, if nothing else, because of the helmet he was wearing. He looked like a mini Stirling Moss
Healey-Duncan Drone, one of only three ever made. Based on a chassis designed by Donald Healey (the “Healey” in Austin-Healey), powered by a Riley motor with the coachwork by Duncan Industries. Probably the ugliest car ever to wear the Healey name badge, but it's definitely got character!
This particular car started…
Love the Tec-Mec 250F. Special piece of kit
True, but until someone cooks up an Aventador wagon (or shooting brake - we love those too, right?), this will hold the title
That’s the most Jalop Aventador you’re ever likely to see (in pictures).
Yes, we Kiwis love our RX7s; Sideways; On a forestry road, and Rod Millen is our Patron Saint.
