That's interesting! I own two of these Thunderbirds, as well as a 2004 Mustang GT, which was the last year of the Fox platform. The MN12 is far ahead of the Fox platform in being responsive, nimble, and controlled. The Mustang is upset by uneven pavement. The four link rear axle wants to bind up. With some suspension

Maybe an upholstery shop repaired them, but nobody makes reproduction half tweed seats. The only repro ones are all vinyl or all leather. If a qualified upholstery shop redid them though I don't care, because they look correct.

The 2006 Monte Carlo SS did 0-60 in 6.0s and a quarter mile in 14.1. It had 303hp. The Honda Accord V6 at the time couldn't match it.

Aftermarket non ABS because the factory Teves ABS unit is $700. A lot of people switch to a Crown Victoria style non ABS unit that isn't finicky.

Agreed, best seats ever.

Those are not seat covers. They're the relatively rare half tweed option and they look to be in great shape.

The VII was based on the previous Fox platform Thunderbird. The Mark VIII is based on the MN12, which we are here. Completely different chassis. This one has an independent rear suspension with double wishbones.

Independent rear suspension

The early Teves ABS unit is $700. It's why a lot of people put in a Crown Victoria master cylinder and booster setup instead.

I own two of them. The way around the under steer is copious throttle application sending the weight to the rear of the car. You'd be amazed how well it grips when the weight is off that front tire.

I don’t buy that. The RAM HD had one until 2018. The Hellcat had one. Does the Hurricane use the Hemi bell housing bolt pattern? There’s no excuse for neglecting enthusiasts with this car.

The Stinger missed out on the manual transmission, with Hyundai/Kia reserving it for the Genesis version, a car that wasn’t as good.

This will be interesting

I disagree. As a parts and service rep for a major automaker, I’ll say that salesmen don’t know the first clue about warranty coverages. They couldn’t understand the pamphlet if they tried. Likely the previous owner traded it in with the Jasper documentation and the salespeople repeated these claims to the buyer

“but we shouldn’t go on hoping that crashes like this can continue into an era of newer, faster cars, especially after 2022 brought with it so many safety concerns regarding the introduction of NASCAR’s Next-Gen machines.”

350hp / 390tq which is pretty stout. Still auto only though starting in 2024.

Not since 1992

Here we are on Jalopnik, and yet there’s no mention of the EcoBoost being no longer available with the 6 speed manual transmission. This was a phenomenal drivetrain combination with plenty of pep, but also less weight over the front wheels compared to a GT. I thoroughly enjoyed mine. It’s a shame that we can no longer

While this spec is obviously better, have you watched any of the NASCAR Road Course races in the last couple years? They’re very entertaining.

If I had money, I’ll tell you what I’d do...

Not this.
