Yep. When I was growing up we started with just a big sedan. Was a nightmare any time we went anywhere overnight, and would never have cut it if my sister and I were old enough for music/sports. By the time we were we had a minivan and it was better. SUVs were well into popular by the time my parents got one and it

Not only do some people not need it, some people absolutely don’t want it.

I’ve heard the preflight safety procedure say to leave all belongings in case of emergency dozens and dozens of times but even rationally, I know I’m going to retrieve my external hard drive from my bag (yes, I know also that I should have all my files backed up, but.. in the real world this is not the case).

We call it a “Training scar” in law enforcement when someone picks up muscle memory type habits that in an actually stressful situation reappear often in negatively impacting or dangerous ways. This would appear to me to be an example of that.

Agent K in MIB nailed it.

The ED would be a dull place if people didn’t do weird stuff, thankfully people do weird stuff even when not in an emergency so always some interesting cases.

Easy to say when you're not there. People put into emergency situations do not usually do what you would expect. They've not been trained to leave a plane in a hurry and they tend to do what they would do every other time they leave a plane - grab their luggage.

Until one is in the midst of shit do they know how they’ll react. I struggled with my ACLS certification and had a rough time in the simulations and dreaded being in a code. First code while working I ran in and went and helped get the board under the patient and then just jumped onto the compressions and it just

It’s clear to me that the people saying stuff like this have simply never taken any training in emergency response, never analyzed their own performance during the course of an emergency or, frankly, never been in a significantly stressful situation.

Education won’t work - most people simply don’t know that much about flying, and are already a little apprehensive about it. This is an instinctual reaction - pointing out something scary or threatening. You’d have to change fundamental human psychology to get the point where the average passenger could calmly look

Is there a particular reason it can’t be a nice place to be?

Wrong car.

Allies are chock full of speed bumps in Chicago, it prevents people from using and alley to blast past normal street traffic...the idea being it takes longer to slow down for all the bumps compared to just staying on the main street and dealing with traffic.

Based on the lede image, I’m guessing that Owen was still playing with plasticine when Mate was writing here.

Both SUVs are about the same size (197 inches long for the Kia, 185 for the Mitsubishi

That would be the flag of the Iranian state of Zambia.  The UN recognizes this state as being it’s own country, on  different continent.  But this is America, where we know better.  The world is just the US and not the US.

LOL, our landlords sold the house we’re renting. Called us and said “we’re listing it for x”. We said, “fuck, fine, here’s x”. They went, “oh, well, we’re listing it anyway, bid if you want”. First people that looked at it threw down 200K over asking.

Sounds good to this Fit owner, but only if it has 300 miles of range and can be recharged in 10 minutes. ;-)

I used to be in the Dealership CRM business for one of the largest vendors in the franchise world. They way even our largest customer (Penske) looked at front vs back of house operations as profit centers was basically this: revenue from FixedOps actually paid for everything, covering all operating costs for both,

lol, I am going to get one of dem new trailblazers
