Okay, I kind of see what you’re saying here. If that’s the point you’re trying to make, then I definitely disagree with you a lot less. But, I also don’t think it’s completely irrelevant when, as a business, you’re selling to buyers who ARE making those comparisons, and competition usually drives equilibrium prices

“(Insert item here) doesn’t work, but it’s a ten-minute fix.”

Unless they have no plans to bring the 30i and 20i... that’s not exactly what I call “starting at”.

I like how a 3500 lbs F30 (RWD/AWD 240hp) is bad but somehow a 3740lbs  FWD mazda with barely 180hp and an equally light steering is a marvel.

Enthusiasts didn’t want wagons and non-M vehicles. Even Porsche doesn’t make a manual sedan or wagon.

A) For now

You seem like a real asshole.

Tom said that in his article already, but your huffy whining really helps.

if you want to restore the thing back to factory original spec like I do.

“We gave you a free hundred point inspection when you got your free oil change and found $10,000 worth of work that needs to be done. The law says I can’t let you drive your car like this.”

It’s not that “manufacturers don’t want to,” it’s that they’re legally prohibited.

I dunno.. $20k is a lot of money for 3 years / 30k worth of crossover flogging. Not to mention all the time spent at the dealership for warranty work.
I want to agree with you so badly...  but cant’t.

As I’m in Europe, I can’t read the LA times article, but the Panamera hybrid take rate in Europe may have at least as much to do with economics as torque. For example, in the Netherlands, a Panamera 4 e-hybrid costs just €100.- more than a regular Panamera 4, but the hybrid has a 132 hp more than the regular one.

With what, a sawzall?

Oh yeah, I don’t disagree, just was thinking why that sensor light would be on is all.

He drives a Leaf — give him a break.

Oh for fucksake, it was a figure of speech.

Or, and hear me out, vehicles in general are more fuel efficient than they were when gas prices jumped to 4 dollars a gallon. And right now gas is pretty level at 2.50

You shut up with your facts.

Agreed, even Land Rover had to stop doing this for the last ~10 years of Defender production.
