I’d argue it’s a 3 pronged issue: 1.) a government at both the provincial and federal level that makes it a challenge to run a manufacturing business within Canada, 2.) Energy costs that make manufacturing significantly more expensive than many other countries (though it is mostly clean energy) 3.) a union that thinks

they just want someone to blame and Trump if their likely target.

I believe even GM said tariffs have nothing to do with this. Bottom line, crappy cars no one is buying in a market that is shrinking. Crappy SUVs for all!!!

My take: necessary evil given the current market and the changes coming to the industry soon, but still sucks for workers.

Post ww2 China was chock full of bad decisions costing millions their lives. Mao’s great leap forward and his cultural revolution ranking number one and two respectively.

Fair points, all. And well said.

It’s like ordering wine at a restaurant.

Exactly. The “cheapest all-seasons” will suck consistently for 9-10 months out of the year. The “cheapest snows” will suck for the remaining 2-3 months.

Agreed...this will never be worth more than you put it into it, but it’s a nice car and easily worth the $3k.

Everyone has been horrible, but you just didn’t hear about it unless it was in your town.

Broke: Don’t casually kill people

Likewise for the mid 80's Dodge Reliant. You really had to pick your spot when pulling out of a driveway into traffic. If you could see a car on the horizon, it was too close and you had to wait.

To their credit, Ford will let you have a Raptor without a crew cab, leather, fancy electronics, etc. that are all standard on the KR. Finding one so equipped is a challenge of course. Most on dealer lots are loaded to the gills and $70K+ before inevitable dealer markup.

Yeah, that isn’t actually a scam.

yeah its about a 20% drivetrain loss from the crank.

Yes. There’s nothing wrong with the black square. Stop trying to hide it.

But this sensible alternative of yours won’t help anyone sell an app or disrupt some vaguely defined market! Think of the economy!

Don’t forget rotopax, RTTs, maxtrax, ARB fridges, maybe a pullout grill, and all that other stuff that’s mounted up but only used once a year.
