Straight pipes make the V10 slower! You have to put in a crossover, like what’s in the stock muffler.

They only sold 450 V10s in 2004.

The bore / stroke is similar to their 4 cylinder engines. 81mm bore, 95.5mm stroke.

The reason this is for sale is that the original extended warranty likely just ran out.... that’s what happened with our 04!

04 and 05 cars with the “Sound II” package - which all the V10s got - have an 11 channel, DSP amplifier that only works with the CD navigation system. I wonder how the aftermarket system in that truck is hooked up - most installs result in bad sound and only some of the speakers working.
No picture of the differential

I’ve seen those with a red separate turn signal, the lower area as just a running / parking light, and with it underpopulated.

No, they are still yeee olde glass sealed beams.

Minor nitpick... the old iron head 5 cylinders are ~120 hp. The aluminum head 603.96x is ~140 hp. Quite a big more powerful.
MB sold a fair number of 300SDL’s, one source I found says almost 14,000. Compare that to the ~3,000 350SDLs sold, or the ~2000 350SDs!

I don’t think VW Sold a 2.0 CR TDI in green. I know it wasn’t an option on the Passat.

Ever looked up some of the service procedures on a V10 TDI? Replacing the driver’s side oxygen sensor is an engine out job. Replacing the AC compressor is an engine out job. Same with the turbos or the starter.
VW lists the alternator as an engine out job too, but it’s not required.

If I plan to turn our 2012 Passat in at the end of the window (Sept 2018), should I file my paperwork now or wait until the deadline is closer?

My 1991 350SDL, like all Gen2 W126s, has a dummy relay built into the instrument cluster just for making the “click” sound. The actual turn signal relay is under the hood, combined with the wiper and rear defroster relays.

Presumably they were automatics...

This was an option for the Golf, not the Jetta.

VW has used the same position for R for their transverse FWD cars since 1976. I’d hardly call it non-standard.

Now playing

*sigh* I miss my 5000 Quattro. It was so much fun in Michigan winters. With the winter tires I had it was almost unstoppable!

They changed the whole fuel injection strategy. This is more than a simple “remap”.

Updated to the late 1991+ interior? Check!
Heated seats? Check!
5 speed (most sticks are 4)? Check!
No ASR? Check!
Price.... I have to agree with ThatGuyWhoBuysUnreliableCrap.... just a bit too high.

The touareg has a lot more in common with a Range Rover than with an X5.
