This feature was in the software for my 2012 Passat, but turned off. I enabled it with VCDS shortly after getting the car.

C3 Audis (The 5000 * 100 / 200). After the Unintended Acceleration scare their value plummeted. People didn't maintain them and when they broke the were simply junked. I'd love to have another one some day, but unlike other 1980s German sedans there are simply few to none left :(

Hmm. A couple of points here... there is no 1991 Mercedes 300SD. The 1991 350SD does exist though and that extra 1/2 liter of displacement can spell major problems. About half of the 350SD/SDLs engines randomly bend connecting rods resulting in high oil consumption (a quart per 100 miles is not uncommon) and eventual

Our 2012 Passat was recalled so the dealer could put a big yellow sticker in the fuel door reminding you not to put gasoline in your TDI....

1993 and 1994 VWs had an aux in on the front for just this purpose.

This is why VW owners prefer timing belts to timing chains :)

I didn't sandbag at all. I was watching the speedo closely to see the shift points. It really was that slow.

Vanagon 1.6 Diesel. 48 hp from the factory. RPM limited top speed of 65.

There are tons of Waze users in the DC area, myself included.

DOT rules make it illegal to replace the headlight lens. (Their thinking is if the lens breaks the reflector will be damaged too so the whole unit needs to be replaced)

The automatic climate control system used in the W116, early W123, and R107 is the Chrysler Sourced AutoTemp II.

You mean the W126? The W116 was never sold with SRS. It also didn't have electric front seats or an electric mirror.

The small Tug trucks will do a wheelie if you floor them:

I did this to my 99.5 Jetta TDI... bought the interior and harness out of a 2000 GLX car. Now I have heated power leather seats with memory on the driver's side, automatic climate control, and the Monsoon stereo.

Perhaps. Or they could have hooked up the airbags like Mercedes did... their ignition key goes through off, accessory, run, start as you turn it and the SRS module gets power when the key is in accessory forward.
Having the SRS module's power cut as soon as the key is turned off of run does make things safer for techs

The belt routing sticker on my F350 shows the V6 diesel... which of course was only fitted to box trucks. It would be nice to have a diesel 'burbon again, but don't get your hopes up. It's probably just a standard sticker used for many models in many markets.

Some suggest they should get rid of their reliable, paid for car and instead go spend money on an unknown, potentially unreliable "beater"? So they sell the Benz for 5k, spend 1500 on the beater (anything cheaper is generally rusty junk), then more $$ getting it registered and inspected, then let's say another 1k in

What about the W116 in Arcade Fire's The Suburbs
