I agree. The number one thing I hate is when people say they don't have money as they type away on their iphone. I didn't always have money... so I didn't buy shit I didn't need.
I don't think he is "heroic" but it make sense for facebook to see him as an asset. He clearly has skills and was able to figure out how parts of facebook works without being told. I'm sure he'll be valuable on the team.

Yeah, I've never actually taken a new job for less money. In this case, I'm willing to take up to 20,000 off the posted salary, which is equal to my current salary at my current employer.
So relevant to me. My head hunter just sent in my resume to a job I think I will be great at, but I don't have the years of experience they want. I know I can do it.
I would just walk out saying I didn't want a job that would ask me such a question.

@Interstella5555: The only part of that strategy I don't get is this: If you are staying at an expensive place, you want to feel pampered. Like everything is a luxury that they provide. So to me, the should just jack up the room rate and include as much as possible.

Self check out is so last year. We have the scan as you go now. You carry a handheld with you, and scan and bag as you go. Then pay and walk out the store when you're done. So much better.
