@EvilJ: Resurrected: First off, 1.7M bumpers? doubt it. Plus sales aren't the thing he really cares about with giving out free bumpers. He wants to make people happy, and a bumper which costs next to nothing to make is the way to do that.

@peesauce: in many many many cases, buying a case is not an unexpected extra cost. I've had a case on my iphone since the first generation.

What I learned from this is to never talk to Bloomberg if you want to keep your job.

Growing up in Dover, De I never realized I was such a minority. I thought no one was allowed to have sparklers/ fireworks.

@Usama: they probably only threw that in there for the class action law suit perpuse. "We told them to return it, not sure why they are suing us"

@gebinsk: actually it is an option. You can't force apple to make the phone you want. They made is clear this is the phone, software update to come. If you don't like it, you can A) live with it B) Return it.

@baldbeaver.ah: I already said I agree it's a defect, but most people planned on buying a case anyway. If you are one of them, then it doesn't matter.

@Helvetica: I don't think they were being passive agressive, I think they were stating flat out to return the damn thing and shut up if you don't like it.

@SewerShark: or maybe they already said the software fix will show you less bars in many places.

@ninja_togo: the one featured above already does work with the internet... plus it is a work phone so I dont pick it out.

@dragon:ONE I like that it supports apps, but the only apps that actually work on mine are weather and stocks.

@LegacyCrono: well if you are adding a bumper into the cost, then your phone will work, so no problem there.

@djfrantz: The reason this won't happen is some of the 1.7 million people bought cases for their phone (like they planned anyway) and don't have any issues.

@vampshocker: The main reason people continue to buy them is because they are people like myself, who always intended to put a case on it, negating the whole problem.
