“Tsitsipas did earn his second time violation, which came with a point penalty”

Someone with no kids voluntarily joining a two-day road trip with a family that includes 1- and 4-year-olds is one of the craziest fucking things I’ve ever heard. After about hour eight, he’ll probably call ahead to a urologist in Florida and schedule a vasectomy before even returning home to Chicago.

Billy is Deadspin’s Colin Cowherd please don’t @ me

The soccer comments are dickish because Billy has been told the same complaints about his writing over and over and over for years - enough with the ridiculous paragraph-long run-on sentences, the use of fourteen paragraphs to make an incredibly banal point that could have been made in two sentences, the constant

To be fair, as an Eagles fan, I truly hate the Cowboys more than any team except the Eagles.

Our head coach is a freckled ginger

Yep, the Rockies are now 5th in attendance this year despite one of the worst seasons in years. Why? Because you can still get cheap seats, and it’s a beautiful stadium and fun experience. People don’t go when you charge them $30+ apiece to sit in the upper deck for a meaningless game.

It’s a modified used car, “buyer beware”.

The problem with attendance is that bad teams still charge too much for tickets.  I went to Michigan for a work trip a few weeks ago and looked into Tigers tickets while I was there.  $100 for the cheapest ticket that I could find for a team that is absolute trash this season.  Yeah, no thanks.

I’m about as big a baseball fan as a person can be and I’m still a baseball fan despite it all so I agree the game’s troubles are overrated. That said, the game is in a bad place right now. Maybe not economically to a meaningful degree, I still subscribe to MLB.TV and everything so they’re still getting my money, but

I have always loved Tokyo Drift and was chastised for it for years!! The acting was sub-par but visually it was stunning and it introduces us to Han doing his best Ocean’s 11 Brad Pitt and eating in every scene.

A year ago, the digital streaming service added The Fast and the Furious (very good), 2 Fast 2 Furious (bad) and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (objectively the best) to its lineup.

It’s good because I knew from the start that is was coming, and it still managed to deliver. “Turf toe” was perfect pitch. The Magary-style aggressive capitalization works, too.

I know exactly how Andrew Luck feels. I mean, I don’t have a degree from Stanford or a bunch of athletic ability or millions of dollars or a super-high IQ. But I have been booed by people in Indianapolis. And my boss does a lot of drugs.

robot umpires might disadvantage a certain kind of precision pitcher who nibbles on the corners and successfully teases out a wider strike zone
