I agree, I like the VI , the opening with Praxis, the send off for the crew, but you can tell that Meyer was working on a tight budget.  Aside from the destruction of Praxis and the zero g part on the Klingon ship, there isn’t much here that would look out of place in a 2 part episode. The whole movie practically

I think there was a release date set for GFIII which is why Duvall dropping out, Ryder not doing the movie, forced so much of a rewrite. I don’t think it’s a terrible movie, but the care and craft that went into making the other 2 movies just doesn’t seem to present here. The supporting cast is not near as good and

Snyder seemingly forgot that movies need establishing shots, Bvs and Justice League never seem to give you a sense of place.

After the shit show that was The Stand, CBS all access or Paramount + is going to have to do a lot to give me confidence they have the ability to produce big budget shows.

Can someone fill me on John Goodman, is that a look a like actor for a flashback or digitally de-aged?

It looks like a CBS show. You can tell money was spent on the production design but at the same time some parts of trailer look like anyone of CBS’s military shows. After watching The Stand I have no faith that CBS/Paramount+ has the development ability that Netflix and others are able to create cinematic looking

Everytime I see Boba Fett get out of the Bacta tank, I’ll I can think of is Family Guy, out of shape Tough guy from the 50's.

Condorman and Dick Tracey

I don’t hate the design of the costume, but the materials sort of look like Affleck -Daredevil/X-men 2000

I feel like a lot of Rom-Coms are visually lazy but this movie and Love Actually have some nice cinematography.

I would say that one of the downsides of the Disney Trilogy is that it didn’t lean in heavier on the toy side of things. I think of the cool playsets from the 80's like Cloud City carbon freezing room or even the Ewok village. Just think about how boring some of the sets in TFA are, Solo’s boring barge, or the bland

Since it’s CBS will anyone really notice. I just assume most CBS shows are back ground noise for old people who want to take naps.

I think alot of people were blown away by the train sequence in Spiderman 2, but I’m like you I was not impressed with the movie, the acting from the main trio was worse, Aunt May turned into a characture, and the movie locations just look bland. I don’t think Amazing Spiderman 2 is a great movie, but it’s by far the

Spielberg has always been great at creating a cinematic look to all his movies, so it was shock to me how much of a backlot the Neverland scenes looked, Crystal Skull did the same thing, especially the camp scenese.

Who would have thought that the most uncinematic Avenger would have the most cinematic looking D+ show. The entire first episode felt like being in Manhattan at Christmas time as opposed to a hallmark channel movie that has a couple of areal shots of  the Empire State building cut into a Vancouver street set.

I’m glad we are getting a continuation of the X-men series, I am a little skeptical about bringing back the voice actors though. It’s been 30 years since the show, voices age. I would rather they recast where needed. I hope they stick with a similar style animation but better. X-MEN:TAS’s animation was wildly all over

I loved Shang Chi, one thing that struck me though was that the structure of the script was very similar to Captain Marvel, with flashbacks intermittently sprinkled through the movie. Shang Chi did a much better job of having the flashbacks connect to the story , while I felt like Captain Marvel would have been better

It’s weird generally their Series are pretty good but their Original movies are garbage, they have big budgets but never look like big budget movies.

I agree with this, I think Attack of the Clones is garbage and looks like a mid 90's FMV game most of the time, but Rise of Skywalker is much worse. It couldn’t even manage to have a coherent opening. Both JJ Abrams movies have less then stellar opening scenes, but the ROS opening a disjointed mess.

Just a comment, looking at Craig’s Bond, the really cut his hair too short for Skyfall, it just doesn’t suit him well.
