I had some idea that something like this would inevitably happen after that draconian law was passed, but I’m still horrified to have that suspicion confirmed. Fuck you, Alabama.
An attorney is necessary in this case. The medical bills are enormous. If they have medical insurance that insurance will force them to seek damages. If they don’t the only standing between them and financial ruin is to get the Astros to pay up.
If fine print were even close to dispositive, civil trial lawyer wouldn’t be a profession.
We could have a precedent setter, then.
That’s good to know, my retirement plan involves being shot by a Minute Maid Park security guard.
One of the only things I ever remember about the law in a class I took was that none of those disclaimers and waivers mean anything until a court of law says so.
They could put in the fine print of the ticket that you have to eat Jim Crane’s ass before you’re escorted to your seat in the lower level, doesn’t mean they can enforce that.

“Just following the laws” is the civilian version of “just following orders.”
““I blame the parents for letting their children be born Jewish. We shouldn’t go against the Fuhrer, who’s just enforcing the laws that he put on the books in the first place.”
Can we impeach Trump for human rights abuses and flouting international asylum laws?
“I blame the parents for letting their children be born Jewish. We shouldn’t go against the Fuhrer, who’s just enforcing the laws.” —The Drumpfs next door, circa 1939.
The article may be a year old, but I doubt that many, if any, have changed their minds. These people don’t care that seeking asylum is legal. They find ways to blame everyone, except for Trump
The cruelty is the point.
