The way I see it, there are two rules.

Maybe I’m being too generous, but my understanding has been that the Paleo diet wasn’t so much about eating exactly what Paleolithic people ate. Just about the theory that because agriculture is a relatively recent development, our bodies still do better on lower carb/sugar diets than the other way around.

Why would you close a profitable business on the assumption that a small increase in labor costs will put you out of business? Everyone in California knows minimum wage is going up. Raising prices by $0.50 here and $1.00 there isn’t going to shock anyone who isn’t an asshole.

As much as I’d like to think there would be enough that he could do that would involve no contact, you’re right. I made that suggestion without thinking after seeing there was such a low chance of him getting actual jail time. In your experience, does a case like this change that likelihood? I mean, someone’s got to take out the trash, clean the grease traps, etc. But since the most likely consequence of simple battery for a first offender in GA is parole, what’s your alternative?
