I got the sense for awhile, post-ST, that Disney was floating all these names and soliciting scripts in order to gauge crowd reaction and see what was the safest bet to go forward. Patty Jenkins was doing something on the strength of WW... until WW84 flopped and then she was out. Benioff and Weiss were doing something

I thought so too. I think they are in the process of being sold, I figured that was it for the comments for now.

Wait... are comments back? They were gone yesterday? Am I losing my mind?

Based on her public persona, this sounds completely on brand.

Hathaway is another example of the internet taking something middling and choosing to declare it the worst thing of all time. Does she have some Corden-esque try-hard theater kid energy that’s a bit off-putting? Sure. But does she seem like a generally decent person? Yes. Has her film output been exceptionally shitty

Totally agree

On the one hand, drones don’t have to wait in traffic. On the other hand, this is such a comically overengineered response to such a minor problem that I can only imagine it is going to result in a net negative effect on the transaction. But hey, at least the Door Dash CEO will get a bonus for implementing the program

Speaking only for myself, I like JLaw but for quite awhile she did have this sorta “lol, Hollywood is so dumb, I don’t get it, I’m just a normal person like everyone else” vibe which... wasn’t true. She is a conventionally attractive person who had been acting since childhood and was in a number of critically

SBC has always seemed like an asshole, so I am not surprised.

I don’t generally see movies in theaters any more, but part of the problem is that I had no idea this came out in March. I have not seen a ton of advertising for it - in fairness, I don’t watch much TV live these days - and the trailer I saw for it prominently featured the song “Cruel Summer”. I was expecting this to

I’m an old and it takes me forever to finish games and I read this because I know I don’t have the time to finish this game. I never even finished the original FF7.

Done and done!

I’d be down with a period piece.

This seems like a safe, non-controversial choice. I don’t hate it, but it’s more of a shrug. If you’re open to playing around with the mythos (i.e. what they did in No Time to Die), why not go in a totally new direction? I have posted a couple of times as being in favor of Dev Patel who, coincidentally, has an action

I’m torn on this one. I love The Crow, the movie and the comic. The sequels have all been bad, clear attempts to cash in on it. This one at least looks like a professional movie where they are trying.

IDK... it made $5 million. Assuming that a ticket costs about $10 on average for a nice number thats... 500,000 people who paid to see this movie. Also assuming that no one went to see it again (and who knows! there are superfans of everything), that’s a pretty small number of people who saw it. 500K is a bit less

My partner and I still yell “No, no, fuck, no!” like in that song to each other whenever there is a minorly annoying thing that happens around the house.

I haven’t seen Venom 1 or 2, but they are on my list of “eh, if I have 2 hours to kill and don’t want to super pay attention to what I am watching” movies. Based on the response, I am somewhat surprised this franchise made it to 3 movies.

Interesting article. I am always disappointed in my quick breads for the exact reason you mention: too crumbly, impossible to slice thin, etc. Might give this a shot.

I respectfully disagree. Britta was someone who thought she was cool and saving the world and fighting the man, but continually showed her ass by being uncool or privileged leading to being clueless. The same could be said of all the characters - like all people they had strengths and flaws, good qualities and
