It is predictable but disappointing that Marvel is already doing this. I always felt like RDJ or Evans or ScarJo would come back in a cameo when they needed an easy gig or Marvel wanted to juice numbers a bit. Pulling in an OG Avenger from a virtually identical universe would be easy enough to do. I did not think they

Kinda Britta’d that one, if you ask me.

In a way, this saga seems like a good microcosm of the art/capitalism relationship. The “album” (whatever it is) sounded like a fun marketing gimmick to get the Wu in the news and generate scarcity and value in an increasingly digital world. All the stuff about the Wu and/or Bill Murray being able to steal the album

I’ll occasionally see clips of Hot Ones, but I tend to skip it because I find the host extremely off-putting. Maybe I am a little jealous he has an easy job where celebs come on his show to kind of poke fun at themselves and look dumb eating hot sauce, all while he gets paid and gets to meet a ton of cool people. But

I would add that CEOs are all about maximizing short term profit (I may not be here in 5 years!) and if that means killing the goose that lays the golden eggs for goose meat now, they’ll do it.

Caveat: I stopped going to theaters during the pandemic and have not been back mostly because I have young kids now (too young for movie theaters), so if my partner and I get time to ourselves its probably not to go to a theater.

Barbie worked as a movie because there is a lot of cultural opinions and conceptions tied to Barbie - feminism, standards of beauty, how tastes/toys change over the years, etc. You can make a movie that addresses some of those issues or incorporates them into a narrative. Polly Pocket on the other hand... doesn’t have

I starred it, but I groaned as I did.

In that case, my bad - coffee hasn’t hit and I am honestly so frustrated with all this.

To my discredit, post-election 2016 I thought it would be the latter, your best case scenario. And everybody else would know things like Hilary couldn’t be sent to jail “just because” or that we couldn’t get Mexico to pay for a wall, so they would quietly go about their business governing while trump made speeches,

I agree in theory, but the Stephanopolous interview did nothing to assuage my concerns. Biden should have had a pretty good idea of what he was going to be asked (what happened at the debate and what would you say to Americans to ensure them that you are still fit to go forward) and still came off shaky. Crappy

This is me too. I genuinely thought that other people in the government would reign him in. I had no idea things would get derailed so fast and he would ignore or fire everyone who disagreed with him, install stupid psychos on the SC, and mishandle the shit out of a generational pandemic.

I recognize Lupone from AHS and though outside my wheelhouse, I think she is a big deal on Broadway. And Sasheer Zamata was on SNL. But other than that... I assume that I am just an old.

We just started The Bear and when Joel McHale shows up my partner and I both did a double-take. Completely unexpected.

Agree. S5 was really pretty bad and I am even more bummed because episode 1 made it seem like it was going to be “AD takes on a whodunnit” which sounds awesome in theory. I forgot almost everything about that season, but from what I remember it was an unfunny mess that became a chore to finish.

I love Community but I am starting to get some serious AD S4/S5 vibes from this project. Like, people want it but it’s taking time to put together, they just can’t seem to make it work, and then years later we’ll get something that is subpar. I hope I am wrong and would love to re-visit Greendale, but every passing

The enduring popularity of this reference is due mostly to its unique premise. Second to - but supporting that premise - is the fact that this was one of those fairly breezy 80s movies where the actors seem to be enjoying themselves, the comedy is solid but not paradigm-shifting, and the premise is dumb but doesn’t

I think it is season 2 (after you stopped watching) that Dale is talking to Shane and makes a comment along the lines of Shane liking the new world because it favors people like him. I think there are a *lot* of right-wingers who love the ethos of the post-apocalyptic wasteland - “might makes right”, no accountability

repubs don’t panic because they (to their eternal damnation and credit) spent so long building an unassailable position that they never have to worry. More people wanted Clinton in 2016 than trump, but due to the electoral college trump won. red states are gerrymandered to fucking hell and everyone accepts that. idaho

I can’t help but feel that part of the problem is that, in order to demonstrate unity, we have to pretend everything is okay with Biden. This is the exact thing we were doing with repubs - “how can you support someone that fucked up in the head?” - but now that it’s our team, we’re suddenly making excuses for what we
