You seem to have a weird definition of angry.

Ah yes but you forget that the commentariat has already decided, the trial’s been had, the verdict pre-agreed, the punishment is... the punishment... well that’s still beyond their grasp, and that impotence makes them rage.

You’re right, it only works if you don’t cross the seal.

You really think lots of kids didn’t see the movie and want to join the USAF? Sure it didn’t work on everyone but it definitely made flying jet fighters look cool as hell. And besides you say yourself it’s about intent which is exactly what was the USAF and Pentagon intended hence them allowing the bases to be used

That’s literally what makes it propaganda. It was part funded and cleared by the USAF and the military have a huge amount of leverage in what’s acceptable in the films. This was all covered at the time of the films release and the fact the Pentagon have script approval on any movie that uses their hardware is well

If only they didn’t work with the military to do it thereby undercutting the other stuff.

I appreciate this take, it’s like the “prestige” TV stuff trickled down into all TV but with less talented writers and inaccurately over applied to pulpy genre stuff as well. I blame the prevalence of college screenwriting courses and MFA programs, people viewing their internal lives as intrinsically interesting and

It’s funny because I’m enjoying this take on Picard immensely and think TLJ’s handling of Luke is extremely juvenile primarily because it’s 6th form level “psychological realism” shoehorned into what was mythic fantasy and here it’s simply continuing the more psychologically realistic style of Star Trek in comparison

Eh they didn’t love each other so much as suffer from deep pathological narcissism. Well in the books at least, the show, as ever flattened everything.

Marvel is a great example of the switch from, for lack of a better term, waterfall to agile development of movies.

It’s tricky for sure to come up with a compelling narrative after winning, but I think it’s possible and would make for a better story as these films that have chosen to effectively reset haven’t worked either.

Interrupt away, I had no idea that movie existed and I’m kinda curious to see it now. Has to be better than First Kinght anyway.

They might just understand mythic fantasy works in different ways to science fiction.

Finchy, he threw a kettle over a pub once.

I could definitely go for a mystical, grimdark King Arthur franchise with this as the first film.

This. She’s fucking amazing in T2, the end with her loading the shotgun one armed is up there with John McClane in Die Hard for sheer bruised, battered but still going badass characters. She’s not a character who’d ever fail at protecting John.

Spoken as someone who’s either never seen Zardoz or has seen it.

Julia Ormond is in it I believe and yes, still unwatchable.

First Knight? Yes it’s fucking woeful but I think it’s early 90s.
