I was skeptical about doing a guided tour, at first. I was afraid it was going to be similar to a school field trip. But last year, there was a great deal on a guided tour of Turkey's Aegean Region and flights to Istanbul were dirt cheap, so a few friends and I jumped on it.

The whole episode where they get re-trapped in the bunker and he somehow gets stuck in a tree? I was infuriated that they spent so much of the episode focused on him.

I know. I just meant it seems to be popping up more and more when any show or movie or whatever gets popular real quick, and it's *usually* self-righteous white people making the accusation.

Kind of impressive that it was still alive, though, no?

She gets a bit toned down in later episodes.

Psh. People need something to get irate about in order to feel superior. Especially when it's a popular show. Getting irritating, really.

Have you ever tried Dona Bessie/Dona Azucena (are they the same place?) down the street? I was always intrigued by the dueling Pupuserias.

Oh man, I used to live right there and I never managed to try it. Sounds like that was a mistake.

No way, it's on North Glebe? I moved about 3 months ago - I lived just down the street on 2nd St S! My sister still lives there, so I'll have to check it out before she moves to Alexandria in June.

Super Pollo is so good. I only went there once, but whatever I got was a combo special with chicken, gravy, rice, and somehow also french fries thrown in. I was in hog heaven. I miss Arlington and all the Peruvian chicken sometimes.

I think you just quoted Chuckie Finster's dad from Rugrats circa 1990.

Yup!

Totally happened to me. They make you walk around doing the stupid "We are!" chant. Like, wuh? I don't even go here!

I just laugh-bursted at work. I guess that makes me a terrible human being.

For reals. I grew up about 15 miles south of Baltimore. I've never heard anyone talk like that. Including friends' Dundalk-born-and-raised grandparents. It took me a few episodes to realize that she was doing a Baltimore accent.

Yup! I'm a pretty shy person and am hard-pressed to strike up a conversation with a stranger. The other week I ran into a woman wearing a hoodie from my school. I ended up having a really pleasant talk with her!

Er, my husband and I met at our small, liberal arts college. He was a chemistry major and is now getting his MS while working in pharmaceuticals. I was an English/business major and am pretty gainfully employed at a defense contractor. I'm not sure I know what you mean when you say you can't get a "practical"

Yep! I was being an ass when I said I learned nothing. I've actually got a pretty decent career going on. I do sometimes get a little bummed when people get to be all "WOOO school pride!" and it takes me 10 minutes to explain where my school is, and that yes, even though you've never heard of it, it is a good

Ewww Liberty...if I were a student at a liberal arts school that actually valued education, I stay the hell away from Liberty.

That was my first though "what are the current students going to do next year!?" That would fucking suck!
