Exactly. It is so damn weird that there seems to be collective amnesia among those speculating about FFVIIR that the inn-flashback-scene existed in the original.

Rebirth appears to continue to play with scenarios that deviate from the original 1997 game, chief among them being a scene where Cloud and Sephiroth are traveling through the wilderness together. Weird.
Aerith’s death was a critical moment in the narrative. Not sure why people would have a problem with that, other than “oh hey I really liked this character”
As for Zack, he was barely in the original game. It seemed intentional that we don’t learn a lot about him other than the one flashback. I’m a little worried…
“Or at least not yet, god forbid. Rebirth appears to continue to play with scenarios that deviate from the original 1997 game, chief among them being a scene where Cloud and Sephiroth are traveling through the wilderness together. Weird.”
I think it’d sting a lot more if there weren’t plenty of ports/remasters. Plus, this seems like the closest thing we’ll get to a proper sequel, even if it did - SPOILER - bring in weird time-travel bollocks.
I’ve got to say the time ghosts were my least favourite thing in Remake.

What about the Remake before it truly goes off the rails would you have considered “the same old thing over and over.” The game was meaningfully and joyfully fleshed out in myriad ways without fighting the personification of fate.
I don’t know why the option is always presented as “Absolutely verbatim remake without…
RE4, Dead Space, Metroid Prime, etc etc all seem to suggest it’s perfectly viable and popular to remake the original game without *wildly* altering the plot with dimension/timeline nonsense.
I don’t think RE4 would have been any better if an alternate timeline Brad Vickers burst through a portal and then we went on an…
Correct on where we first hear about the weapons, and Bugenhagen is also my guess. also apparently there’s an interview where Nomrua says point blank it goes up to Forgotten Capital (City), but the places they visit won’t be in the same order.
Crater’s where we first saw the Weapons, right? Trailer seems to suggest we’ll be seeing it - unless it’s a hologram in Bugenhagen’s observatory or something.
Not sure you can call it fanfiction when the company that owns the story is the one telling it.
no one got the joke
So we see events that are at LEAST up to recruiting Vincent in the trailer. I imagine the game will actually go farther probably to OG disc 1's end, and that’ll be the cliffhanger. The rest can easily be wrapped up in the final installment.
That’s...a take all right.
So, wou want LESS options. You want for it to cut characters that were on team at this point, in the original.
OKAY.
Yeah, I have no idea why they would do this.
why?? These are all playable character from the original. It is only missing Cid which I’m guessing they are keeping him for the last game.
I’m normally pretty switched on when it comes to Anime news, but I had no idea this was even happening.
I didn’t care for the other two spin-off shows but I am curious why that one dude in the trailer looks like The Thing from the Fantastic Four. How do you say “Clobberin’ Time” in Japanese?
It’s a coming of age story that features a space patrol officer, a robot that may or may not be the pirate lord, and an evil galactic corporation trying to stupify the galaxy and they use scooters and guitars as their weapons. What’s not to understand?
