That was at the time that Gamers loved to echo the phrase “I don’t care if it’s far off, just tell us that they’re working on it!” .... like, here ya go lol.

Yeah, announcing a game like, ten yeara before release is *probably* a little early there.

I dunno, I mean without an announcement we all would still have assumed there would be an ES6 and if they hadn’t announced it Bethesda would still be getting questions about when it’s coming, so I don’t think much would have changed.

Persona 3 is a game I really liked but intended to never play again. That late game grind was way too much for me, I didn’t enjoy the ending because I was too relieved that it was over.

Yup. That news instantly downgraded me from “excited” to “meh” on this. I’ll wait for the bigger-and-better full price rerelease.

FFVII and all three RE remakes were non-union. Both said they wanted ‘younger voices’ as their excuse, which is a very old anti-union tactic for replacing expensive actors with cheaper ones. Not that they did a bad job, I like the new FF voices, but it’s still...crummy. And the excuse falls flat when you realize they

If the jump from 5->4 was frustrating, going to 3 will be another leap in frustration. The QoL stuff was just not there back then. And then there’s the “which version do I play”. I played the Portable one on Vita and it was ... okay. Lacking a lot though, such as moving around on screen. It was more like a visual

Could be, but as someone mentioned below, Vic Mignogna (Junpei) finally got what was coming to him as a sex pest (it’s been known for over a decade but it finally culminated in him trying to sue a fellow voice actor he harassed and it went even worse than you’d expect, to the point of hilarity), and then Karen

I lost interest the second they announced it wouldn’t have any of the content from FES or Portable. People have been screaming for years to get a definitive version.

I have been playing them backwards— picked up Persona 5 Royal during Covid lockdown and played Person 4 when it came to Game Pass. I was about to start Persona 3 sometime next month. Should I just wait for this remake? I enjoyed Persona 4 a lot but did miss some of the QoL stuff from 5...

True but there are plenty of reasons that might not work. Maybe someones voice has changed, is unavaible, is no longer on good working terms with the company.

They could’ve redubbed them with the same voice actors and just not hired the one person.

I’m still tentatively excited, though I’ll be the first person cursing a blue streak if they re-release this a year later with the missing narrative content.

It is more likely that the original recordings were just not usable for some technical reason or another.

LittleBigPlanet says hi. The omni-prior-art on basically all game mechanics lol

The patent for stationary objects on moving vehicles COULD potentially be viable depending on how greedy narrow the scope is. if they try to say “we used X idea to allow Y to function in a better way” then a patent could be warranted but if it’s just “we made moving platforms work better so we want a patent on all

The whole problem with this trend, which started with Amazon’s buy-now, is that you’re supposed to be able to patent the *how*, not the *what*. For example, if you invent a new drug that, say, cures a specific form of cancer, that doesn’t disallow other drug makers from making drugs to treat that particular form of

Nah, I thought the dialogue in NH was a lot more simplistic too. Nintendo sanded down a lot of the idiosyncrasies of NL and earlier. Some of it was definitely for the better (villagers asking before moving out makes me much less anxious about losing a villager I love), but I miss some of the ones that gave AC its

I never played the older games but yeah, in New Horizons after the island was upgraded it all felt very final. You could still talk to the villagers but it was all stuff you had heard before, so unless you gave yourself a goal to complete or wanted a specific villager or whatever, it didn’t feel like there was much

I feel like New Leaf definitely had more dialogue. The animals don’t even ask you to do anything in this game, so that’s a good chunk of dialogue options simply deleted.
