The easiest answer is the quality of production would simply not be the same. Knowing they’re developing only for one device, which they’re intimately familiar with instead of needing to target multiple machines with different specifications.

Despite how guarded the company is, sources tell VGC that Nintendo is working on a console that might have “an LCD screen, instead of the more premium OLED, in order to bring down costs,”
I’m glad to read that I’m not alone! Aside from a handful of downloadable titles and a full release or two, my Switch just sits docked and collecting dust. The last game that got played to the end was my wife playing Luigi’s Mansion 3 on release. I absolutely abhor the joycons for its lack of ergonomics as well as…
50% of Switch users use both modes a decent amount, 30% use it mostly in handheld mode, and only 20% use it mostly in docked mode
I have to wonder if the performance issues with Scarlet and Violet were more dev time crunch than hardware flaws given how polished TotK was
FF14 has been so good, so consistenly, for so long, they’re running out of ways to truly surprise us! I guess that’s a good thing.
Not totally surprised that Yoshi-P would want to avoid meddling with the current state of healers and tanks at the moment. Just as in Stormblood, creating new DPS jobs seems like the easier default choice.
“but unforutnately Yoshida confirmed there won’t be any underwater soccer, AKA Blitzball.”
Speculation, but it’s probable to pin down the longevity of the current Switch due to the pandemic chip shortage, extreme success of the Switch, and difficulty in trying to design a future console that can keep backwards compatibility.
Big shrug until I hear something from Nintendo since every mother fucker has been saying this shit every year since 2018.
As a new player, I’m sooooo excited for this. I’m only just starting Shadowbringers so there’s still plenty of story to unlock before the new one drops next year, but this game has vaulted into one of my favorite FF entries ever already.
I was there at Fan Fest, and it’s hilarious how TWO DYES PER GEAR PIECE got more and louder cheers from the audience than... pretty much everything said during the keynote other than the actual Dawntrail teaser itself.
I have to wonder if the performance issues with Scarlet and Violet were more dev time crunch than hardware flaws given how polished TotK was. The two year cycle for Pokémon with a remaster in between (plus the proof of concept that was Legends: Arceus) vs the 7ish year gap for BotW to TotK? I know a lot goes into a…
Eyeglasses and hats...!?
EYEGLASSES AND HATS!
Portable has always been Nintendo’s bread and butter. They’ll never stop making handhelds. At least the Switch docks.
You’ll make it further in life when you realize that your personal preference does not reflect everyone’s preference.
I’m leery, I’ll admit that much.
Man considering how much of ARR is basically about going to Indigenous-coded societies and killing anyone who practices their local religion, I can’t say I’m too excited for the ‘colonize America’ expansion.
This should easily hit OG PS4 performance at 720 mobile, 900p when plugged in.
LED does not cut it though. OLED and a nice one is the standard.
FYI the free trial doesn’t have a 30-day time limit, it’s unrestricted in that regard
