Square Enix confuses me, because on the one hand they have that super-generous demo for Dragon Quest XI that single-handedly sold me on it, and the Neo TWEWY demo was on the shorter end as far as content (it cuts off like right before so much of the game starts unlocking!) but at least also had no time limit... and…

Now I’m imagining the Kingdom Hearts fan who started with Chain of Memories, played 358/2 Days, Re:Coded, and Dream Drop Distance, and only learned most of the main plot due to the rhythm game (Melody of Memory), until now.

Yeah, I don’t think he’s quite up to Sid Meier status, but then again, was Sid Meier when he started doing that? As a solo dev the guy’s got even more of a right to it, and at least I know who this is unlike PlayerUnknown.

Wasn't Kingdom Hearts itself also the result of Square and Disney staff running into each other? Wild that this thing exists, let alone has somehow continued on so long and has been allowed to go to such bizarre places. I'm glad it does, though.

I’d only have a problem if you could convert all your Miles to Bells in a few clicks; as it is, I haven’t had anything worth spending them on for so long, glad I’ll actually be able to get a little more use out of them.

Very excited for this in spite of myself heavily wishing it’d all been here quite a bit earlier, when I still actively played. But maybe I'll finally have to go back.

XIV ain’t bad as someone who never really got into other MMOs. Especially since the free trial has absolutely zero time pressure.

I wasn't one for MMOs, but overall I've had fairly good experiences with random Duty Finder groups.

I mentally do “yen” to “cents” all the time; even in Japanese games that don’t explicitly use yen for currency, it often seems like a closer fit than “ah, yes, some ten-year-old kid shelling out 300 USD for one dose of pet meds”

Suggestion: change everything to yards, print “yards” as “meters” in every other country :P

The movie cut out a lot of the crap from the book, and rightfully so, but I’d argue also cut out some of the themes it attempts to handle. Does the book succeed? Not exactly, no, but if you’re willing to overlook a lot, I think there’s a little more there. Or at least more potential.

Very excited to see what a new composer on Dragon Quest will sound like - Square Enix clearly still has tons of talent, and I feel like from a purely musical standpoint they could’ve done better if he hadn’t held on so tightly.

And then the mobile game created an absolute bonkers amount more, and we’re still waiting for more of the Xehanort mobile game.

Yeah, honestly this is the thing I’m most hyped about.

Would like to bring it to everyone’s attention that the PS5 FFVII Remake’s Yuffie mission has a character named Billy Bob. Not that that’s a huge deviation from Remake’s Chocobo Sam, or hell, the original games having a Zack.

Agreed that Lil Nas X was probably the biggest disappointment here.
