Much easier to use a word that’s already in use that way than make a new one. I know there’s still people who use “neopronouns”, but overall it seems like in English at least more people are settling with they these days.

Microsoft can and will run their entire Xbox division as a loss leader if they have to because they’re impossibly huge; Sony might still have the movies and everything going on but they’re at least slightly more grounded, betting on making a profit off of games and therefore trying to set console prices to whatever…

Super Metroid still holds up pretty well, as a game or an intro to the series (scary 3 in its intro aside)... Metroid (NES) is, yes, just as easy to boot up, but absolutely hard to play these days. Which is probably they remade it as Zero Mission in the first place. It didn’t even have a map!

Ah yes, the Wii U failed not because of *everything* but because they put quadrillions of dollars into... just doing the Virtual Console again.

As far as I can tell, all releases of the game have had to use the tiny, crunchy backgrounds compressed down for the PS1. I saw a forum post somewhere with the few high-res backgrounds that got released as promotional material somewhere, and... man. They look so good; what I would give for a release with those! I fear…

I watched one playthrough of IV and VII Remake (and also all of Kingdom Hearts, which does crib a lot from IX) and played the opening few hours of VI first; I’m hardly a FF super-fan. But, man, I loved IX.

I’ve used the app for typing in Animal Crossing chat and... that’s about it. I guess the pattern stuff would theoretically be useful too?
