She would need a brain in the first place to be brainwashed, no?

Oh she's actually just incredibly dumb, don't fret.

Should have been tea-length. And I never say that. But it would have been less cumbersome and more retro and fun.

I thought Clare Danes looked beautiful but dull. Also, when she was interviewed, she shook her hair, and her hair did not move. At all. It was shellacked into place and that irritated me for some reason.

It's definitely high-fashion in that sense that some girl will be rocking it in Vogue and it's artistic and gorgeous but in real life, you look ridiulous. I mean, really? Your eyeshadow matching your dress is bad if your eyeshadow/dress is one color but this was ridiculous. Reminds me of something from the Hunger

I also think on some level - you do have to mention the body that's wearing the clothing. Doesn't mean you have to call someone a fatty (though I was personally taken aback by the display of bones that Danes gave us). Clothing looks different on different bodies. For example, Clare Danes would have looked lovely in

Challenge: write about either woman's appearance without inducing knee jerk accusations of bodysnarking/thin shaming. YOU CAN'T DO IT.

Don't you watch the show??? Her dad was a cheater and womanizer who routinely disappeared and treated her mother terribly and died when she was young. (Sorry, obviously you don't watch the show. Don't. )

Honestly though...what do you want him to say? These reporters need to stop aspiring to be the one guy who gets some sort of detailed, emotive response from the guy. Ask a stupid question get a stupid answer.

She should always dress as if in a painting. It was inspired.

Whenever someone puts a pattern on her it's just overwhelming to the eyes. She doesn't need much. She needs structure and tailoring but her skin, her hair, her figure...she's amazing. Let's not mute her beauty with the wrong clothing!

It reflects her common roots, her apsirational beauty, her salt-of-the-earth-appeal...Americans don't have to use titles? Psshhhh we're just pretending she could be our friend.

They're not Catholics. The Catholics always have such a doom-and-gloom, gotta get it done STAT air about them.

She said she picked it because it reminded her of a Sargent painting (delightfully nerdy! and totally threw Seacrest for a loop!) I imagine it was this one.

It is very simple but with a body like that you don't need much more than a cinched in waist and a sweeping neckline.

I legit cheered. This is a woman who is routinely let down by stylists, in my opinion. Christian Siriano, you did her justice. The world thanks you.

Anyone else catch Ms. Fey, post-popcorn gag, and after they announced her win, wipe her hands on her dress? YES. It was classic. I would do that. Wear an amazing gown and wipe butter on it. (To be fair, I saw no evidence of staining. Maybe it was not buttered. Maybe it was caramel popcorn).

Shapewear sucks, but it does help. I've seen other photos of her where it seems she wasn't wearing the right underwear, and the right underwear is everything. I love the color on her though, and her hair. It is a lot of schtuff on the neckline for a petite girl.

If only this was tailoring! Pull in the waist on this thing, dammit! Who did her eye makeup? It's insane, and not in a good way. Maybe you need to be 5'11 to rock this, but I like it, and think it could have been better.
