Just when you think these people can’t get any dumber...

Corporate America is built on the philosophy of squeezing every last drop of blood from every stone in sight, deserved, legal, or otherwise. Paying ‘more’ for anything is antithetical to that.

Don’t forget — same assholes: “Pro-life, because all life is precious!”

That’s the least Walmart — and the involved employees thereof — deserve.

Everything the Republicans throw at her ultimately boils down to, “OMG SHE’S NOT WHITE AND SHE’S NOT A MAN! WTF?! AMERICA BEING DESTROYED!!”

This is what happens when greedy motherfuckers put their own whims and wants over the needs of others. The real estate ‘industry’ is a social blight that should have been annihilated at least a century ago. Rent seeking is a perversion of civilization, and shouldn’t be tolerated in any way, shape, or form. But because

As I’ve said elsewhere, I’m willing to give it a shot. I think SR4 hit peak zaniness, at which point, the only way forward is to start from the beginning (ie reboot) and follow a similar path of escalating craziness. Each sequel in the SR series was crazier than the last, after all.

*ahem*

Agents of Mayhem says, “Hi.”

Exactly. If I want to play a clone of GTA, I’ll go play GTA. It’s like the folks developing SR now don’t actually know why SR was successful.

It’s hard to watch the news without being pissed that they’re not calling this kind of hands-off racism what it is — racism. “But we’re not doing it. We’re not racist!” Yeah, but you’re not calling it out either. That’s just as bad. A lie of omission is still being dishonest.

It’s still a country of deeply divided (racist) mentalities. Mainstream media is geared towards white people, because it’s largely staffed, owned (this one especially), and run by white people providing ‘content’ for an audience that is assumed to be similarly mostly white. By white people, for white people. Because,

It’s strange...I was just wondering earlier today, thanks to SR’s reboot video bringing all things SR to mind, how Mike was doing, and when the inevitable announcement would come, given his terminal diagnosis. I didn’t expect the answer to be “Today.” Now I am sad.

It’s often the same reason why many regulations get instituted, too. Especially those regulations that impede or otherwise reduce business profits.

Pretty much. The whole reason societies have laws is because most people *WON’T* do the right thing reliably. They have to be coerced into it, often by force, and punished harshly when they don’t...and if they get away with it, it just encourages them, others like them, to do it more often.

Superficially, I *might* just barely get why Republicans might oppose mandating masks and vaccines — you shouldn’t have to mandate doing the right thing. People should be doing that voluntarily, by default.

Yeah...not likely. Military contractors aren’t known for paying the *employees* well. Just the shareholders and executives.

So, in response to a single incident on an aircraft, which has the provably safest track record of all forms of transportation, he chooses driving, one of the least safe ways to travel??

Do you want to use your tools to catch bad guys?”

I understand it’s been optioned (even though I’ve not heard anything about it going anywhere so far), but the Cold Fire trilogy is fantastic, all around. Characters, writing, dialog, story, plotting and pacing. All top notch. Fingers crossed that it translates into an equally awesome series.
