I will pretty much never go to the ER again. I went one time for something seriously minor and they did basically nothing and it was over $1k. I have health insurance. It’s just easier to die tbh.
I live in the US and decided that having a baby is just too expensive for me. Also I have crippling financial anxiety. When I even see people having kids I wonder how the fuck they can afford that.
I went to the ER for a panic attack. They sat me in a room for a long time, did a blood test, gave me an anti-anxiety pill and sent me home. It cost me $1,150 out of pocket. I have insurance.
And the issue of doctors and specialists not practicing in rural areas is a HUGE problem in the United States as well! As you say, that’s not an issue of public v. private at all.
I only recently learned how to ride a bike so I am just glad I didn’t choose to go stationary. I doubt I’ll ever ride a century though lmao
I guess the difference here is that when you’re on a real bike, you’re pulling the handle bars a little bit? Is there a difference between cycling and stationary-cycling?
wow and yet he doesn’t want medicare for all interesting interesting
Looking at this picture all I’m wondering is just how short Sanders is lol
Do you ask every time you sit down for somebody to make room for you?
I’m just asking because you seem to say that it’s all good as long as you “communicate or even just approach” but... do you do that?
I cannot tell you how many texts I’ve sent like “hey, I’ve been struggling with issue xyz for a while and if you have some time, i’d really like to get together and hear you thoughts about it” which is 100% different from “let me tell you about this bitch from work.”
Did he... forget what country he was the president of?
The gift thing in particular definitely can be emotional labor depending on who you are. Some people love to give gifts, some people (me) become extremely stressed out and anxious over what to give people.
I think the issue is more this value judgment placed on emotional labor. Who said it’s inherently bad? It seems to me more like an issue of equity and fairness in a relationship. If you are the friend constantly giving support but not receiving any, that’s not a good relationship. Likewise, if you are a child…
Yea in particular the religious zealotry is extremely worrying. Lots of parents have killed their children in the name of God or to protect them from a sinful world, etc.
It’s frustrating to be sure but you have to consider how they think about all of this. Welfare/disability/etc are bad, unless they’re on it. Because they deserve it. And moreover, they think that if we reduce welfare spending, it’ll only impact brown and black people. Not good hard working opiate addicts like…
There’s also been some recent scholarship indicating that the bubonic plague was not actually what caused the Black Death in Europe. Either the doctors were really exaggerating the symptoms (possible) or it was something different entirely.
Sounds like the police are trying to blame the hotel which is interesting. Maybe if there was a Twitter campaign putting pressure on the hotel, we’d see a little more honesty from the police?
I stan Charlie’s Angels Full Throttle so?
Looks like the elephant ear might still make it imo. Less likely the monstera - the color change is a bag sign. If I were you I’d bring them both inside, keep them warm, not water them for a while. Cut back anything that doesn’t perk out.
