I agree with you, I totally get it. I love Porsche, I’m glad they are financially viable.
But when all the kids see the Porsche mini van show up at school; will they grow up to idolize the brand like I did? I doubt it.

Profits are of course every business’s goal; but once you dilute a brand name you can’t get that back.

Actual stock car racing would be interesting; more of a race of manufactures than of drivers. I’d go a bit further and let them strip off all luxury and excess weight.
The classes would be a bit more difficult to determine, but price range of the street car should be a decent indicator until you cross much over that

Ya same question. Nice saves, but how does he keep losing control?

Yep, I’m in the same area.

Ya “never new” is generally my motto, but looking at the numbers the used ones were going for the Jeep brand new made sense. Fantastic re sale value.

Ya I’d have to agree, its not bad at all, just not the greatest value.

This car is WAY overpriced. According to Hagerty evaluation this car is only worth as much as they are asking GOOD condition (think a very nice driver’s car), this car is far, far below FAIR.

Not worth half what they are asking.

Seriously? “one of the ugliest cars ever put on sale”
I have absolutely no idea what you’re on about.

Their should be no law protecting you from yourself.
Of course is more dangerous, but its not the governments job to play mommy and protect you from yourself.

Fake, the driver is doing about 20mph.

Scary! I’ve been their!
I’m not a fan of cars with much over 400HP; this is why.
You either have to be an trained race driver, OR let the electronic nanny’s kick in (usually the case for most car enthusiasts). I don’t see the point of owning something like this as a regular enthusiast.
I’m glad crazy stuff like this

I’d agree that it’s on the high end, but it’s almost $30,000 over the Jaguar F-Type R; it’s hard to see where the extra 30k went. As for the Porsche, it’s tough to say if it’s a competitor to the GTS or the Turbo.
That’s probably intentional.

This is my favorite Mercedes since the 300SL!
It still strikes me as “over-priced” though compared to the competition from Porsche and Jaguar.

Oh and for the record, I got a Jeep Wrangler – which wasn’t the best choice – because it needs MORE POWER!

“Over-buying” actually makes sense for anyone who has limited vehicle storage capacity.
Rarely do I need to tow something large (like a race car), carry a lot of stuff (building project), or go off road driving (camping / vacation), but I do need / want to do each of these things several times a year.

I don’t get it. There are two reasons for a road trip:

Totally agree, every single one of my favorite road trip nights have been off the beaten track.

If your interests are that narrow and limited just take a airline to your destination. No point in a road trip.

Totally agree; I’ve got about a 400 mile range and I typically stop when the tank is at 1/4 or so.
When I do take a break, its no half hour and its right off the highway.
Once electric cars can do this, I’ll be a lot more interested.
Auto-pilot and a 17" screen on the highway sounds wonderful.
